After much research and review reading, I chose to buy this locally at Walmart. Even though signal reception indicator lights showed poor to mediocre, my wifi devices that barely worked now had five bar signal strength and Netflix movies played flawlessly. I couldn't be happier.
The one thing the directions don't help with is setup of this device. Seems the best option is to call Netgear support, once I did we got the range extender set, then all worked fine. Without that step the directions on setup are confusing.
We needed to boost our signal from the basement to our living room in a 3600 sq ft house to get Netflix to load properly. Works great. Now, I can watch House of Cards.
Hooked thus up in minutes to extent at a further corner of the house. Works great!
I bought this device to extend my Wifi signal to the back of the house. It works just fine. The problem I had was with Walmart. I ordered it online and picked it up in the store. When I got is home I realized that it had been returned to Walmart at some time because there was none of the normal paperwork in the box like instructions, warrantee information, or registration information, or any other notices you get with a device you plug into the wall. I did not want to have to travel back to the store unless I really needed to, so I got on the computer and went to the Netgear website and looked it up. It took me longer than it should have because of the lack of documentation. The device works great no thanks to Walmart!
Easy to program and link to your main internet connection
Needed a WiFi extension and this works great.
Very easy to set up. I put one in my shop and 1 in the corner of my house closest to my shop and they linked up.
Getting it set up and connected was frustrating. Hours of it. At one point the directions say to connect device to extender option even though it will say you don't have internet with it. Next direction is to go to their website. Guess what! Error message: No Internet! At this point I don't know how I got it working, but I did. All seems to work well. Haven't tried to see how far we can get WiFi with it, but as far as we need it.
Like most homes, with our router located upstairs in the center of the house wifi coverage was good in most of the house except one far set of rooms. In our case it was the master bedroom and bathroom. So I bought the Netgear AC750 to solve this problem. Setup was easy, plugged it in, used my mobile device to access it, entered my password and we now have a strong wifi signal throughout the house. By plugging in the 750 in an electrical outlet half way between the router and the dead zone the poor reception area is now gone. The Netgear AC750 was a fast, easy solution to our problem. I highly recommend this device. (Picture below shows it installed below a night light in an unused receptacle).
