Not just a toy

This is a high performance RC. Previous experiance is prerequisit. If not, you will be disapointed when it crashes and breaks almost immediatly. If you have developed the skill for this, It is extremely fun and well worth its price. It does fly and works really well on snow!

I paid $24 for two new Storm Launchers over a year ago. I just paid a total of $30 for two more right here on walmart.com. These are marketed for kids, but you really need to know how to fly it. I've crashed mine many times and repaired them many times, they still work for the most part. I think the first one I flew has a fried motor after many hard flights though. I would not recommend these for a child that has never flown a regular 3 channel plane. Due to the design and concept of this product it is harder to fly than a regular airplane. I have many videos on Youtube of how much fun these can be.

I bought one last year and I decided to buy a couple more because they are a lot of fun on land, snow, water and in the air! I wanted to make sure I had backups.

People just have to realize that this product, no matter what it says on the box, is not for beginners or kids. It is a fairly advanced toy RC airplane (not hobby grade), and airplanes are not supposed to crash. They break when that happens - most every time. If you don't know how to fly RC airplanes, then you don't know how to fly this product, which means you will crash it. When you do, it will probably break. That said, if you do fly RC airplanes and or have basic knowledge of what you're doing, this is a very durable and enjoyable plane, especially for the price. Similar hobby-grade hydrofoils (boat-planes) cost hundreds of dollars (roughly $500 minimum for the radio, motors, servos, misc. etc.) and are far LESS durable than the Storm Launcher. On the upside for the new users, it is very easy to repair/replace parts with hobby glue (Gorilla Glue works very well). Also, if you want to learn to fly RC planes but don't have thousands of dollars to invest in a few hobby-grade planes (that you will wreck as well), the Storm Launcher is a great way to learn without going broke. It is a fun, responsive, well-designed hydrofoil built for people can't or don't want to use the advanced/expensive stuff.

I was excited about getting this for the price I paid. ($15 plus shipping). However, I did not know that no battery came with it... purchased seperate battery and charger for $17 on ebay. This is not a product for any kid. Bought it with the intention of using it with my daughter but I soon realized that wasn't going to happen. There are several warnings about being careful while flying and they are true. Overall this is fairly easy to control. It flies and is fun - However, it is also very easy to crash. It is made of styrofoam and basically taped together. Every time I take it out something breaks. Tape and glue are holding it together right now but that adds wieght and makes it harder to control and fly. In the end this is a neat product. I just wish I would have bought 2 or 3 at the time because mine is already on its last leg. Good luck with yours!

Christmas Disappointment!

Santa brought this highly desired item to my son for Christmas. After charging the battery, we all went outside to see it in action. My 6-yr old and my husband were both able to control the plane within a short time. It was exciting watching my little guy actually flying this plane! How cool--- However, after a few landings, screws began to fall out and then the rear wing tore off on one side. We tried taping it but the plane just wouldn't fly right after that. It was a very expensive 1/2 hour of fun.

This RC is fun in WINDY and OPEN areas.LOW shock value meaning its gonna break should you hit something.Stays stable for a while but in the end this is no long term toy. Unless your a pro and menuvering and good at learning extremely quickly before your plane breaks. dont get it

Worthless!

We bought this for our grandson who was so excited. He had been wanting this for a long time. However, we never got this thing off the ground! Or to move on the ground for that matter. As soon as we started it up, one of the propellors snapped. There was one replacement propellor for each side, and we went through all of them within a matter of minutes. It never went anywhere, on land, water or air. We intend to return it!

A cheap made product

I bought this product for my 13 year old son for christmas. When I got it I took it out of the box just to see how big it was and when I touched it the wing broke. This airplane is made of very thin foam material that I didn't think was good for the price that I paid. I took it back and got my money and bought something that would stand up to a 13 year olds usage. I was very displeased with the way that this product was made
