I got this & the Land Rover for my 2 sons for Christmas so they would both have an r/c to drive. This one went to my 8 year old & the other to my 3 1/2 year old. Both are able to drive them fine. They aren't as fast as my hubby thought they would be but the kids don't mind. They work good & other than the occasional dislodging of a mirror or light from a collision, all things are in working order. I wouldn't recommend this if there is an infant in the house only because of the small decorative pieces that come off. Although they can easily be put back on, a baby would likely try to "taste" it first.
My grandson loves this.It looks and works great!!!!
The kids and grown ups love this RC toy. It will run easily on grass and packed snow. Rugged, well built, and tops in quality. This toy far exceedes what was expected. Excellent value. Mr.Way
Per the description, the battery is supposed to last approx. 15 minutes. I followed the charging intrsuctions on the battery to the letter. The battery charge lasts us 20 to 25 minutes, (depending on the terrain)(grass and small mounds of gravel in my case). It also says not to charge a warm battery, as it takes away from the batterys efficiency. The only problem is that the written instructions and the instructions on the battery itself conflict as to the amount of times. ( As I said; I followed the instructions on the battery).
Recently I had occasion to visit the Walmart store in Pendleton, Oregon. As I pursued the isles this New Bright #1580 "Toyota 2007 FJ Cruiser" -- an identical copy of my own full-sized, Voo-doo Blue FJ Cruiser -- yelled, "BUY ME, BUY ME!" And so I did! It's a really great RC toy/model, complete with authentic colors and high performance. The only exceptions ... NO rear spare tire; NO 6v rechargeable battery pack for the car (only 4 AA cells); NO 4WD (only 2 rear wheel drive). Other than that ... I LOVE IT!
My son picked this truck out because a person who reviewed it said that the vehicle was VERY FAST. His brother received a bigger R/C (1:6)and his was MUCH QUICKER. To say the least big brother was NOT happy!
This product was everything I wanted and more. It climbs everything and performs beautifully! I couldn't believe how reasonably priced it was for all that it can do !
I bought this truck for a seven year old boy for Christmas. I got it out when it got here and it said the first two charges needed to be for eight hours and it needed to be charged before initial use. I am glad I did not give it to him and then it need an eight hour charge, with him waiting and crying and doing kid stuff like that. Well, I charged it and gave it a test drive. It is so SLOW. It is powerful enough, but SLOW. Hopefully it will be fast for a seven year old. Ta ta.
Lots of fun, but wish batteries lasted longer (only about 15-20 minutes). The controler antenna has already pulled out (after 2 uses -although with kids) and the antenna cover on the truck itself is a plastic sleeve that also pulls out VERY easily (again, not good with kids). Looks great though and has lots of power - goes over anything!
This vehicle is a 1/10 scale 9.6V and is huge compared to the 1/12 and 1/14 6V vehicles I own. Unfortunately the large vehicle move like a snail compared to the smaller less powered vehicles. I submitted an e-mail on the New Bright site question the speed of this vehicle and have received no response. If you are looking for a large RC car this one is not so bad, but if you are looking for fast RC vehicle then you should spend your money elsewhere.
