I questioned if we should spend this much money on this single toy. After reading all the reviews, I decided to do it. My 5 year old son has had this toy for 3 days and has played with it non-stop. He has received many other toys for his birthday, but chooses to play with this ship. He has played with it in both the tub and on the floor. His 7 year old sister has even joined him with pretend play. The options are endless and so far the ship seems durable. He continues to find different options of how to build different boats and for the little men to go. I still think the price is a bit steep, but so far I would say it was money well spent. He loves this present.
My 3 year old has been asking for this toy everytime he sees the commercial. They play the commercial it seems almost nonstop on one of the tv networks for kids. I was reluctant to purchase it as most toys he asks for end up sitting in our play room after a day. Well his persistence paid off I finally broke down and bought it. He loves it and it quickly became one of his favorite toys.
I bought this product for my 6 year old granddaughter. It's HUGE! The toy is fun and very versatile, but it's rather top heavy and tends to tip over in the water if using all of the attachments; they must be balanced exactly right to keep the ship upright. We resorted to removing some of the items just to keep it floating. Overall it's a great toy and the "workaround" isn't a big issue with my granddaughter....she just makes two boats when using it in the tub.
Great toy for the boys they play with it everday. The only drawback is that the pieces come apart to easy and hard for my 4 year old to put back together. But other than that it is great
My son got this as his santa gift this year and it actually has a lot more features than I realized. He can take it all apart and use the different pieces to play with and he likes playing with it in the water over all a great Boys toy. Lots of fun adventures!
My son first spotted this on commercial and knew he wanted this. I was a little hesitant because of the price being $39.99. I thought it was a bit too pricey for my budget, but went ahead and purchased. He has been playing with this set for over a week straight now. With other toys, he plays with for a day or so and gets bored quickly. So I am impressed with how entertaining it is. He cannot wait for bath time as well. Very satisfied overall with this toy.
This was fun for my 5 yr. old the day he opened it from the package, but there are so many pieces that it was hard to keep track of it all. I'd say it was fun the first time he played with it in his room, and the first time he played with it in the bathtub, but since then, it has remained unassembled with all the pieces scattered in different places, i doubt it will ever be played with again like it was the day he opened it. Too many pieces are now unaccounted for and we wouldn't be able to assemble the boat back to the way it was when we got it. Too many pieces for a 5 year old, and a busy mom, to keep track of. If you're child is a serious boat-fanatic, then this might be worth it. If not, might be a waste.
My 7 year old son really wanted this toy. It is just a dissappointment. He cant stand that the pieces just dont stay in place the only time he uses it is in the tub and even then it sinks. He just is no longer interested and his grandparents made the effort to make sure it was here for Christmas. Dont buy unless you are going to keep it on shelf. The only good thing was the Shark..... He loves that.
I got this for my son for christmas 07'. It sounded like a great toy. It states that it floates in water on the box. You have to take all of the extra stuff off of the top for it to even float. My son was not happy about that! This is a toy that I would believe to spend 15 to 20 dollars on but no way was this worth the 36.50.My son has not picked this toy up in 3 weeks!!!!
There are too many "push-together" joints/connections and they fall apart easily. Adults would have a tough time keeping it together. The ship itself has numerous push-togethers to make it one piece. All accessories have 2 or 3 connections that come apart with a light touch. How could anyone play with this without getting frustrated?
