Simple set-up, I had it up and running in just a couple minutes. My house has lots of dead areas, this eliminates that problem where you put it (use the spot finder to make it work even better). All you need is an open outlet to plug it into and after the quick installation you're good to go!
Very good acquisition with this Wi-Fi Range Extender. It is s very simple system- plug and play, extremely asy to set up, you just need to follow the quick instalation guide. I had some blind spots in my home where I didn't have internet connection with this device, my problem is solved. It is worth the investment if you need a wild range connection. You can use to help your Wi-Fi connection on your, laptop or any other device. It will help if you multiple devices on at the same time. Very useful!
This extender works very well. It says it covers 7,500 square feet. The setup is was very quick. No updates when completed. I have a dead spot in my basement so I originally tried plugging it right next to my modem too see if the extender would work there and it did help but I think the WiFi has to go through to many walls and the dead spot is diagonal from where the modem is located. So I decided to move it in the basement and it has done wonders. The WiFi is so much better for not only our phones or laptops but also our smart TV. There's nothing worse than a bunch of lagging and pausing when you are trying to watch a movie. Another bonus with this extender is that it has an Ethernet port for a hardwire connection. I have an Xbox in the basement and the connection has always been hit or miss but now I have the extender right next to it and that helped with the WiFi, but since it's so close it was nice to be able to move to a hardwire set up. All around the product works very well and has been very beneficial to our home.
I received the Linksys RE6400 Dual-Band Wi-Fi Range Extender (AC1200) yesterday. It is small and compact and plugs into an electrical outlet, so it is virtually out of sight. The technology is great. I have a Netgear WiFi moden from my cable company.and the range extender works well with it. With the help of the instruction pamphlet and my smart phone I was able to install the wi-fi range extender. The pamphlet walked me through the installation and helped me find the right place in my home to install it. I started too close to my router and the instructions told me to move it. It is now around the corner in another room and working well. I does a good job improving the signal to my lap top, cell phone and tv in the other room.
Received the Linksys RE6400 and the instructions in the Quick Start guide sounded easy. Set up was fairly easy with a few glitches. Don't expect the light to stay green. Ours changed to a pale yellow. Since we were expecting a green light, we activated by the router, moved it to test other locations, moved it back to the router area, tested it again elsewhere. We did this a number of times, finally figuring out the light does not stay green but goes pale yellow. A call to Linksys technical people confirmed that the color can be a pale yellow (not mentioned in their instructions). Once we got through to their technical department (took about 30 minutes on hold), they were very helpful and nice. Another issue they clarified is the password is not Admin (as noted on their Quick Start Guide). The password to access the Wi-fi extender is your normal router password. In order to use the Wi-fi extender on a particular device, you will need to click on the router name with the ext. and use your router password. We tested the extender in our house and it did not improve our coverage as our coverage was already good. However, when we moved it to the sunroom the bars went from one to three. My spouse uses a laptop or a tablet there to play music to drum by. His comment was "Wow, this extender is amazing! I could play all the songs and there was no buffering or interruptions." Now we'll be able to use our laptop, tablets, and mobile phones in the sunroom, garage, and patio areas and not have any Wi-fi issues.
My shop is 25 feet away from my house and cell and wifi was non-existent. The extender not only has made wifi available in my shop but also full bars. Can't say good enough things about this. No reason not to buy!
This dual-band Wi-Fi range extender is exactly what I needed! It was so easy to set up too. Just take out of the box, plug it in, and press the WPS button on router and on extender and VOILA! They pair up! I was wondering if, because I had a non-Linksys router, they wouldn't read/connect with one another, but that wasn't an issue at all. I now have better coverage at the end of my house. It's a simple design that plugs in to any wall outlet, and really doesn't look bad at all! The range on this thing is really excellent, so be sure to put it in any area where you lack service bars. I'm very pleased with this product, and with a brand like Linksys, I know I can trust the quality and longevity of this product. So, if you have Wi-Fi, and you don't feel your range is big enough for your home or business, this will change everything (and so easily!).
This Linksys Range Extender works alright but not great. Installation was a breeze but we haven't found the best space for it yet; we are still experimenting with the best possible area for our home. We have a lot of electronics that we play all over the house and some rooms seem to have better reception than others. This extender allows us to have better connection in our farther away rooms which is great. After we finished setting everything up, my laptop (which is the farthest away from the router in the house) it seems to run a lot smoother and sped up a little bit. The extender itself is light-weight, small (fits in your hand), and nice looking. If you have electronics far away from your router that need a speed boost, this product is for you.
While this wifi range extender definitely boosted the wifi farther out it didn't reach far enough to fit my needs. I got this to extend the wifi out to the trailer on my property so that my friend who was staying there could use the home wifi. It only needed to reach eighty to ninety feet to cover the full distance to the trailer, but unfortunately only reached to about seventy feet before the signal drastically dropped off. We were able to get about two bars at best in most of the trailer, but in certain parts we weren't even able to connect to the extended range. that being said it would definitely work over lesser distances as long as there weren't too many walls interfering. It was also very easy to set up especially using the WPS features and clear instruction booklet. For the price of this wifi extender I could definitely recommend it to friends, especially if they didn't need to cover the same amount of outdoor range I was trying to do. I would also recommend this wifi range extender to someone who wasn't all that tech savvy because of how easy and straightforward to set up.
So this review is slightly skewed.....I think this wifi extender will work flawlessly for us. Currently we have excellent coverage in our house but would like to extend it to the pool deck in the back yard. Let me start by saying the box was tremendously hard to open, lol. Once we got it open, it was really easy to set up. The directions were spot on, so no issues there. The extender itself is a box that plugs into an outlet (does not require a ground) and has 'wings' that can be adjusted. The intial setup was pretty easy so no complaints there either. Here is the skewed part....I can't currently place it where I need it due to an in progress kitchen remodel. My kitchen is currently gutted with only the cut out for outlets and that is where this needs to be for it to extend to the pool deck. This was supposed to take 2 weeks total but we are 2 weeks in and probably 2 weeks from finish. Super frustrated. So I can't give a 100 percent review bc I dont know if it will reach my pool deck in the back yard bc again it needs to be plugged in on the back wall of the kitchen, due to the layout of our house. BUT currently out coverage is amazing and I am super impressed with the instructions. If I am able to update in 2 weeks, I certainly will.
