[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] At first I was skeptical that the router and a single satellite would provide adequate WiFi coverage for my entire house since the router wasn't centrally located. I was pleasantly surprised that it did. I have 15 connected devices on three levels of my house, including 2 desktop computers, 3 printers, a TV Tuner, a VOIP Phone System, a Solar System Monitor, 4 smart TV's, a network hard drive, a HVAC monitor, and at at least one smart phone - and they all work flawlessly. I am truly impressed. Setup went fairly smooth but the directions were not really that straight forward. I needed to call Netgear once to help me out. I would definitely recommend this system.
Easy set up. Works with non orbi routers as an extender. It extended the Wifi outdoors by 200 feet. Very pleased with the performance.
I needed to extend WiFi to detached garage. I had no signal. I added another satellite and now have 5 bars. Works perfectly
Up to this point, I've tried multiple range extenders. Have use Netgear extenders, Linksys extenders, with only limited success at best. I would have frequent signal drops, and I would have to do multiple device reboots to re-establish a signal. The orbi is the first one that I've personally used that simply works. No more dropped signals, no more device reboots. Plus the coverage is exceptional. The one thing I would caution about would be the location of the satellite. I had it in my first chosen location and I received a blue ring that indicated perfect connection. Yet, I still experienced a few minor issues. That's when I noticed on the orbi app on my phone that the satellite was showing an orange dot instead of a green dot. I Now understand that had something to do with what they call the back hall. I simply repositioned the satellite a little closer to the router, checked the app, found that the satellite now had a Green Dot, and everything's been good since. Again, all I can say is, this is the first extender I've used that has delivered as promised.
Working well so far 2nd satellite to add in garage to have farther Wi-Fi to my front gate when I am ready to change to a myq gate opener seems to have extended the range happy with the purchase but price is still high for this satellite
So far it is great. I live in apartments and needed something to extend my WiFi since I am a full time student, internet connection is super important. Being able to stream movies/shows/video games was a plus. I did have to connect an Ethernet cord from the satellite to my Xbox one to fix the lag there, but overall it's pretty perfect. I'm still connected to the internet if I walk around my whole complex. Worth the money.
WiFi is pretty good but had to place this indoors because the power cord did not fit into the existing outdoor receptical. I was NOT going to call an electrician.
The Orbi system provides good coverage. My main complaint is with the app. It supposedly provides a function for monitoring individual devices on your Wi-Fi system but it never work. Firmware updates are also very difficult to get. There should be an easy way within the app to get updates or to get automatic updates.
This unit arrived yesterday. It is to complement my RBR20 router with two satellites. The new RBS40V Orbi voice installed as expected and is now extending my network coverage just fine. However it will not make the connection with my Amazon Alexa function. The unit does show up on my amazon account but states that it is off line. I have tried every single step multiple times but it just won't connect. Disappointing I can't use Alexa stil. I spent three hours online with three different tech support persons at Orbi but they also were not able to solve the problem.
This is a great product but suddenly stopped working, when I took the Orbi down it was full of water. The IP66 water proofing is not adequate for this product and it is now out of guarantee.. Shame because I loved the product Expensive to replace.
