Bought this to run my two desktops and a smart TV while only running one cat5 line to it. I gained lots of speed and my Netflix works better than ever. I had my doubts but this works great !!!
I had purchased the ethernet switch to connect multiple devices up and to set up a LAN gaming with an additional ethernet switch. Easy to set up. Everything working great with a lag free LAN gaming and having multiple devices connected wired to the Internet, which had better results than via wifi
Cable internet installer told me that I needed a good N-router to use with my modem. I bought this 5-Port Gigabit Ethernet Switch 10/100/1000 Mbps. It works excellent for providing high speed internet to my Four very high end gaming computers. I can have family or friends playing games online on all Four computers at the same time perfectly! My computers are running with wired connection.
This switch works exactly as expected! It was either get a new router, a hub, or a switch...opted for the switch because I liked that it dedicates ports to each attached unit and not share between them. Works like a charm...my PS3 generally gets two bars on Vudu if I'm lucky, my PS4 gets four constantly now!!
Small Business network with 2,000 ft. in between media converters. Pretty much plug & play. Works Great! 8 port on the other hand only worked for one day
I purchased this to replace/upgrade older Netgear network switches in my house. Setup was a breeze using the ProSafe pro and web interface. I have two of the 8-port switches as hubs and several of the 5-port as end units behind computers and entertainment systems. I flashed the firmware, the new switches immediately found all the others, and my entire network is gigabit and totally stable! Really REALLY fast also - I have fiber optic to the street and we can stream and game forever! Great job Netgear!
I had high expectations from my previous experiences with Netgear products, but this did nothing to tarnish that reputation. I plugged in the incoming feed from my fiber jack in my networking closet and can now connect my routers and other devices to my ethernet ports all around the house. The lights operate as described with left and right leds lighting when there is a connection and flashing for data transmission. I have gigabit internet and through my networking testing it appears to achieve the gigabit speeds that it claims. Overall, this is an excellent switch that I would definitely recommend to anyone in the market for this type of networking appliance.
This ethernet hub works exactly as advertised. Simple: just plug in your cable from your router or modem. Most ethernet cables are Cat 5e and will carry up to 1000 Mbs. Next, just plug in ethernet cables to devices (computers, printers, gaming modules, DVD and Blu-ray players, etc). No problem streaming two or more simultaneous feeds from Netflix. Works great!
I purchased the switch to connect multiple computers and a WiFi router on the second story of my home. A switch is better than a hub in that it figures out where to send the data on the network and not to the devices that the data is not destined for. A bonus is that LEDs on each cable connector shows activity on each cable and the speed of the device connected to the cable, 10, 100 or 1000 megabit. Each input figures out if the cable if straight through or swapped wiring automatically. This is the second switch I have purchased in the last 6 months with never any problems. I highly recommend this product.
Works like a charm. Took it out of the box, plugged in all the devices, gave it some power and bam, off it went. Good deal for the price and very easy setup.
