BOYS LOVE THIS PRODUCT~~SO MANY WAYS TO CHANGE THEM ~~GREAT MIND/THINKING, BEYOND A TOY, ITEM FOR ANY AGE~~EVERYONE HAD THIS ITEM IN THEIR HANDS ON CHRISTMAS DAY, EVEN GRANDPA !!
Somehow this toy was defective when my nephew received it; one arm of the figure wouldn't stay on but his father returned it without any problems, got another one and my nephew dearly loves this. I love shopping online at Walmart.com because of the excellent service that I receive. I rarely have to return any items and on those occassions when I do make a return, Wal Mart does so promptly and courteously. I am elderly with a disabled husband so all of my gifts for relatives are ordered online and I always go to Walmart.com first. I love Wal Mart.
Megatron is one of the simpler leader class figures to transform, much more so than the Optimus Prime of the same class. There does seem to be a sticking point while trying to attach one of his legs to the body in his alt mode, not a big deterent though. He looks good in robot mode as long as you can look past his left arm...
a very cool toy the paint is about as good as you can expect from an assembly line type product. the recommended age is 5 and up (if your child is patient and a genius) many adults have been stumped while converting this toy. Very cool collectable and kids can spend hours just moving around the parts.. I would recomend adult supervision because it is heavy and can be a nice hammer for a angry child, still it is a fun toy for kids and adults alike.
This was a Christmas gift for my 4 1/2 year old, who is a HUGE Transformers fan. It is a very cool looking toy, and the detail is impressive. However, it is a very complicated toy to transform. Granted, its intended age group is well over 4 years, but my husband and I both had a very difficult time figuring it out, and we still haven't been able to fully transform it. (I guess you need to be a 10-yr-old to figure it out) None of that seems to bother my son, though...he has a great time just pushing the button for the sound effects and "pretend playing" with it. All-in-all, it is a cool toy, but a little "advanced". It is also a little pricey (as all the Transformer toys are), but it will get played with...a lot!
It's a bit much for a single toy only a foot tall, but I suppose it's worth it. My son loves it. It's somewhat complicated to transform, but not so much that he can't do it, and it's not overly simple, which is boring. It's got some weight to it too, nice & solid, so I think it'll take a good beating over the next year or two. It'll even survive the churning through the toy box!
It was too hard to transform. Several adults at a birthday party tried to put it back together. I would recommend this for a die hard transformers fan. The cost is consistent with the level of detail.
My 5 year old son loves Transformers. He picked out this toy with his Christmas money and we were disappointed. Megatron's arm kept falling off and another piece on his leg. My husband tried to transform him but gave up, it says it's for 5 years and up but I really don't think a 5 year old would be able to transform this very complex toy. I am going to bring it back and hopefully get my money back, $45 is a lot to spend on this!!
My nine yr old son used all of his birthday money to buy this megatron and it was very hard to transform, even for a 48 yr old man. It is complicated, with complicated instructions and it is very stiff and hard to transform. On the third day a plastic piece broke off.It was very dissapointing and a waste of $50.
