You get what you pay for. This is a cheap toy, and its isnt made to battle with. However, my 3 and 5 year old boys love it and do have lightsaber battles with it. I just dont expect it to last long. If we want a sturdier one, well spend $20 to have that. This is a fun lightsaber and exactly what you pay for! We love it!
Great item to complete Kylo Ren costume
For price this is great. Son has lots of fun playing with it and is very sturdy. The light isnt all that bright, but again for price its pretty much what I expected. I definitely recommend for kids, very happy with purchase.
This is a review of the Kylo Ren lightsaber toy manufactured by Rubie's. This is likely not what most people expect as most Star Wars lightsaber toys for children are fairly durable for play. This is actually an adult/older child costume accessory. The packaging specifically states this (see photo) and even clarifies that it is not durable enough for play. It would be nice if the product description included this information. The handle is large and unwieldy for my four-year-old's hands and the extending "blade" is very soft plastic and quickly bent with moderate play. If you've previously bought other officially licensed Star Wars toy lightsabers you'll notice other differences as well, like the on/off switch isn't incorporated into the design of the handle and the battery cover is very difficult to open (although this might have been unique to my product). Having said all that, my four-year-old was delighted to receive this and a week later it's still a beloved toy (and still working although slightly worse for wear). I'd purchase this again.
I mean, you get what you pay for. got it today and the screw to put the batteries in is already stripped? so that's cool guess lol
This is a cheap product. It came broken. I will be returning it and buying a more expensive higher quality one.
Screw to open the battery compartment was stripped when we received it. Had to drill through the screw to put in batteries. We have another light saber and it's much better.
Cheaply made. It easily bends and just not sturdy.
Light did not work, with 2 new batteries
it broke with in a hour of having it its okay it lights up would be great if it made sounds though but the stick park broke off like hour after playing.
