Bought this thinking that it would be no better that the two I've had for a while. Boy was I wrong. This thing chews up the sheets like none other I've ever used. It doesn't jam up every other sheet. As a matter of fact I filled four tall kitchen trash bags and it didn't stop once. Great shredder. Now excuse me while I get back to work shredding.
I find that this shredder offers a much more safer way to avoid being a victim of identity theft because it shreds your papers and cards into smaller sections rather than the long criss-cut strips making it virtually impossible for someone to paste them back together in order to be able to use any of your personal information. The handy pull out bin makes for easy disposal without the unwanted mess when you are ready to empty it out.
I like everything about this shredder. The slot is wide enough to accept sheets of paper without folding. The paper bin is easy to pull out and empty, and there is a transparent section on the bin so I can see when to empty it. The slot cover acts like a guide , helping me feed paper in easier. I think this shredder is well designed. I'm glad I selected this one.
My previous shredder was taller but it did not hold as much as this shredder does. I am amazed as to how much I can shred with this machine before it have to empty it. It is much easier the empty as the front pulls out with a basket, no more removing head to empty. Great machine at a great price.
I've used it with multiple sheets (around 6) and it works fine, even clips, so until now it does what's suppose to do and according what the box indicates. It's better than the heavy one I had before for 6 sheets; and the pullout basket it's very convenient.
It was working so well when I first got it that I forgot to empty the pullout basket. It was about stuck. Still works well. I just need to remeber to empty it!
I say this is fine for home use. I had several years of documents to shred, so we put it through a good workout. It heats up after 1/2 hour steady running. We only ran 3 or 4 sheets through at a time. It did shred credit cards fine. Bin fills up fast.
While this shredder will do the job of shredding the misc things that can't go directly to the trash - as long as there is not too much of it. It definitely is the self contained unit I wanted and works well. I have always used larger shredders that were more for office use which will shred lots of documents at a time as well as credit cards and CDs. This is more of a light duty shredder that will also shred credit cards. Good value and definitely for the home that wants to make sure that documents are shared.
After a month of use, I'm happy with the shredder. I'm a light user and this is perfect. My old Mailmate from Staples died after 3 years and the price of a replacement had doubled. this machine is a little more lighweight but seems to work very well as long as you don't overload.
Damaged in shipment. All parts of the supply chain must work together. Purchased another schredder from a competitor. I lost time in picking up the schredder, and returning it; not to mention the cost of transporation (30 miles at $.55/mi = $16.50 ).
