This thermometer is a nice design. Big, easy-to-read display that lights up when the temperature reading is ready. And it is fast enough that speed is not an issue. Repeated readings are fairly consistent, which is very nice. (I have been disappointed in some of the expensive thermometers, like Braun, that claim great accuracy, but that give wildly different readings on repeated measurements. Which one of those readings is the accurate one?) I can't vouch for the absolute accuracy of this thermometer, but we always use this one thermometer, so at least it gives us a good idea of whether we're hotter than usual. I'm very disappointed in the battery indicator, though. It showed that the original battery was almost out of juice. But when I bought a new battery, the battery indicator still showed that the battery was almost dead. It turns out that both batteries (original and new replacement) measured just over 3 volts, so both were fine.
Had this one for a while now but there isn't any ways to get the battery pack off. I struggle with it and do what it says but it still doesn't come off. that is insane. you can see in my photo where I have damaged the battery area trying to get it off
This worked for a few months, and then said “lo”. Thinking it was the battery, I changed it. But it flashes red and says LO and will not do anything else. I'm not sure how accurate it was either.
Go this after my husband got out of the hospital with lung problems. I decided to try it out on myself first. It says that it takes the temp in 8 seconds it tried it 4 times one time after the other and got a different temp every time ranging from 91.6 93.5.
DONT BUY. I felt sick and cold. I bought this as i couldnt really breath out my mouth. Takes longer then 8 seconds. Also it stated i had a 95.9 temp. I went to the er with a 103.2. This doesnt work at all. Tried to return to the store and was refused because of not javing the packaging. This item will cause someone to die one day
It worked decently although it didn't take 8 seconds to give you the temperature. But then the battery was low and it wasn't working so I changed it. I was able to open it and take it out but once I replaced it the screen keeps saying low battery. It turns on then it says “Err”. I've tried to take it out and put it on again without any luck. I spent $5 on the batteries for nothing.
I bought this because my infant son was very ill and the thermometer we had took over 30 seconds to get a reading. I liked that it advertises an eight second reading. I took the thermometer out of the box and used it on my son. It showed that his temp was 94. I knew that was not right so I took it again, this time it said 96. I then took his temperature with a different thermometer and his temp was 103!! I tried the new thermometer again just in case I didn't take it correctly and the battery died!! I'm returning this worthless product. This product is worthless and shouldn't be for sale.
I got this in the store without checking the reviews first. It keeps telling me I have a 97.4 temperature when I know I am sick and can feel that this isn't the case. Also the battery indicator says the battery is low. I replaced the battery twice with known good batteries and it still says battery is low. With all of the technology we have at our grasp why is it so hard to find a good reliable thermometer?
They need to pull this off the shelf.. false advertising for one, it takes almost a full minute to get a reading, not 8 seconds. Then the reading is completely inaccurate. according to this thing my entire family is dead or dying, as it reads between 93-96.3°.. my husband's temperature read 96.3 on this.. at the doctor a few minutes later his actual temp was 102.7. Complete trash product.
This thermometer is awful! It isn't very accurate. You turn it on and the read-out lights up and then instantly goes off. It then lights up green (normal temp) or red (fever). You have to be looking at the read-out constantly because it lights up only a few seconds when temperature is reached, then the light goes off. If you are trying to take a child's temperature in a dim-lit room (at night) you will have to have a flashlight to see what the temperature is if you miss the 'flash", and it's hard to tell if it's on or off (at night) because screen is dark. I'm tossing this one!
