After owning several 120V Inflators, this one stands out for quality of materials, construction and operation. Metal connector and internals at the tire stem connector. Gauge has been accurate, reliable. Compact size with a nice handle to carry it around the garage. Had it about a week but so far I think this one will last. Ordering through walmart.com was a breeze.
After reviewing many options, I concluded this would meet my needs. It has. A few $ more would buy pancake type compressor w/tank but not nearly as portable and small. It functions better than a 12v unit I've used. Fits well in between the two and appears to be a quality unit.
While I received my shipment last week, it wasn't until today that I used it for the first time. I wanted to inflate four tires on an automobile that I have in storage. Checking the tire pressures, all four tires were down to 15 psi. I used the inflator as recommended, allowing 10 minutes of cooling time for every 10 minutes of use. I managed to inflate my left side tires within the first 10 minutes. After cooling for 10 minutes I inflated the right rear, waited 10 minutes, then inflated the right front. All of my tires are now at the recommended 32 psi. The product arrived sooner than expected (on Saturday instead of the following Monday) and it works as advertised. Prior to this purchase, I had investigated other 120V inflators but did not have the confidence in them to make a purchase. The Goodyear name may have had some influence on my decision to purchase this inflator but, be that as it may, it's a fine product. Other reviews of other inflators mention air leakage at the valve stem. I experienced no such problem.
This pump works very well on car tires and it pumped up bike tires in seconds. The screw-on tire valve is much better than the old-fashioned type. And unless you really want to carry a pump with you in the car it is much easier to use one like this that connects to 115V power. I thoroughly recommend this product.
Pumps quickly and appears to be well built. Having said that, the motor smelled like it was burning up and the hose connector is a bit more troublesome to connect to a tire valve than it needs to be. Time will tell on the motor. I bought a quick release adapter for the hose connector to make that process easier....time will tell on both. Over all I'm hopeful it will be a solid purchase.
I thought of going with a compressor, but did not want to wait while the tank filled each time I needed to use it. The Direct Drive Inflator works fine and is ready to go when I am. I would have rather had a clip on attachment at the head instead of the screw on one that comes with the unit, but it works okay. It does not slip off or allow much air to escape when removed,
Not certain the gauge is exact - but I always double check with a second gauge. You can lose some air while unscrewing the hose from the tire. Other than that is excellent overall and worked out well. Beats going to the nasty corner store and paying a dollar everytime you need air. Decent quality and easy to use.
Works very well. You might want to use an electrical extension cord if you are not near an electrical outlet. I inflated 12 car tires on the first day of usage. Fairly quick and easy mount provided for the tire valves. Plenty of other adapters included as well. Air gauge dial attached to inflator may read a little low or high.
I bought the compressor to air up my car tires, as the site said it would. When I got it there was no attachment to fill car tires with and the instructions specifically said it won't inflate car tires, even though there is a picture on the box of a man inflating car tires! I assume the compressor would be fine for limited duty, like beach balls, but it is not what it was advertised to be, and not what I needed.
I bought this product after reading the reviews. Only one or two complained about the pump-to-stem connection. I tried to inflate two tires: a 60 psi donut (spare) and a 35 psi standard tire. I failed to get the donut past 55 psi (it may have been 60 psi before I started). I LOST air trying to inflate the regular tire. Additionally, the pump's pressure gauge and my own gauge showed different readings. In the end, I drove to a gas station, spent 75 cents, and within 3 minutes had all four full-size tires properly inflated. The pump is going back. Had it worked OK, perhaps the convenience would be worth it; instead, I'll keep quarters in the car and use service station air pumps.
