I've always wanted a wood burning kit. Now, I'm an artist and I do lots of stencil work. When I got this kit, I traced a Sunflower and burned the petals and other parts. Then, I painted the flower.
I used to have a set like this several years ago for My son. These are so fun to decorate wood items And stencil things. We had hours and hours of fun.I am keeping this For my grandsons birthday next month. He is Gonna be so suprised. It will be a item that him And I will do always together. This is a eight piece set with different tips so we Can do different designs.Differenr thickness in the Lines. Can't wait to start on all of our new projects.
This wood burning tool works very well. It heats quickly and gets the job done ver professional. It's very comfortable in your hand . It also keeps its temperature while doing your project. I would definitely recommend this tool.
I was a little nervous at first because I thought it was going to be harder to use but it was actually very easy. I was able to make a cute name plate for a girlfriend at work, she loved it. I love that there are multiple different sizes so the possibilities are endless. It is alot of fun to just play with. I highly recommend the Plaid 30725E Crafting Tools, Decorative Wood Burning & Stencil Cuttin Tool, 8 Piece. It heats up very quick and stays hot the whole time. Please be careful when you use this item it is very hot.
The tool is lightweight making it reasonable to hold for long periods of time if creating an intricate or detailed design. It comes with six (6) tips ranging from fine point to a wide tip that looks like a calligraphy tip. So many possibilities with these options! I greatly appreciate that it comes with its own convenient wire stand making it easy to keep the tip of the hot tool elevated off of my work surface; I don't need to worry about finding something to prop it up. I'm considering using a zip tie to attach the wire stand to the cord so I didn't misplace it; the moveable/slideable zip tie should allow me to keep it out of my way while working with the tool. Note: I'm a novice at this; no prior experience and thought it would be something new and fun to try. I've never before used a wood burning tool specifically for arts/crafts; the closet in similarity was an electric engraving tool to etch my name into electronics in the event of theft. After first practicing on scrap wood, I'll soon be ordering some thin, laser cut wooden shapes and personalize them for Christmas ornaments to tie into wrapped gifts. I'm excited to enter into this new crafting area!
I haven't played with a wood burning tool since my childhood years ago. This tool got hot pretty quick, and I could do what I wanted with the “flow” but. Started playing around with the other bits....definitely need to practice. Also looking forward to seeing if I can cut stencils with this. When wood prices come back down to a reasonable price, I would like to be proficient enough to customize a wooden lazy Susan for center of dining tables or customize cutting boards for family gifts. Overall, happy with this set...just need to practice!
I'm still trying to get the hang of this tool, but it seems like a handy addition to my craft tool chest. It does get hot and you do have to make sure and not touch the metal parts at all when it's on. It has 4 points and 2 tips - a universal point for straight and curved lines, a curved tip for wavy lines and cutting stencils, a flow point for line work and dots, a cone point for thinner, more detailed lines, a shading point and a straight tip for fine details and stencil cutting, also. It needs to heat for at least 10 minutes before using. It says to allow it to cool before changing tips, but I find that you can turn it off for a moment, use small needle nose pliers and unscrew and change out tips without much trouble, then let the new tip heat up. I would advise starting out with a simple design on and old piece of wood to practice on before advancing to more elaborate designs. I'm sure I'll definitely find ideas to use it for at Christmas time and for making gifts in the future.
This is a cool crafting tool. It's my first time trying wood burning so I don't have anything to compare it to, but it seems good. It would take some time to be really skilled with it I think. It's not super smooth maneuvering. Also it gets really hot! Like even on the plastic part you are supposed to hold it with. The cord is kind of shorter than I would like and I wish it had a little carry case or bag. Pros: -Fun new way to craft -Lots of tips Cons: -Gets really hot on the handle -Cord almost too short Overall it's fun to play with and I'm sure with more practice and skill I could do better and like it more.
don't put too much pressure on any of the tools, they snap off too easily
This tool is not as easy to use as it looks. I tried craving some initials on a cheeseboard and it took me forever. There set comes with 4 tips. I used the chisel tip and it was very difficult to carve the curves on the letters. Also it gets hot, so you must be careful while using it. I would recommend some gloves. It is easy to change tips, the fine point tip works better than the chisel tip. This tool is good for crafty older kids and adults.
