The needle needs a deeper hook to help keep the yarn on it. The blue extension can help, but in my opinion, a longer needle would be better. While working with the needle, you do need to turn it to finish making stitches. I can understand turning it for that purpose, but I don't think the hook should be facing downward all the time. Having the hook facing you while working the yarn to finish it might be helpful. The needle isn't long enough. I really don't care for having the stitches on the cable part of it. You have to slide them onto the needle. I prefer a needle where all of the stitches stay on the needle. Even if they are all clumped together, I would rather have all of the stitches on the needle. The blue extension part of it, with what I tried over different days, it did not break. Because of this, it might be considered of good quality. Also, it can be a little annoying to have to use the other hand to move the part of the project where the stitches are in order to work the stitches. Using 4 ply medium weight acrylic yarn with this needle, the worked stitches will feel thick. It can feel and/or be a little tricky to use this needle. In my opinion, it would be better to use knitting needles. The different stitches can be confusing to make using a needle of this type with a book that you buy separately. After trying this type of needle, I don't know if I will buy a longer one in the future or not. I have worked with knitting and crocheting, and those are easier to work with. It might not be the same for others. However, I can understand how having compact or thicker stitches can be desirable through Tunisian Crochet. I'm undecided on if I will do Tunisian crochet in the future. I can understand wanting a certain look, but it's tricky to do this type of craft. Knitting and crocheting are better. It would help if knitting had the same thickness as what Tunisian crochet provides. I'm thinking I can't return these needles because of the information that came in the packaging. Maybe I will keep them and try them for making small projects in the future. It will be tricky, though. I will read the information again. This product is not shipped out buy Walmart. The shipping was free and this product didn't qualify for free shipping because the price is less than the minimum required to get free shipping. I was surprised at that. Maybe I will get a longer needle in the future. I don't know.
