As soon as I got it, I charged the battery and bought a second and a couple more, chaged them all. Everything I have shot thus far, has been good. with some being exceptional. I really like this camera and with 10 megs , it's clarity is wonderful. It functions as a working camera for me. Along with the Domke bag I bought, it's as if I never left the business.
This camera makes you want to take pictures. Because it is small/light and very balanced, it's a breeze to take with you and take pictures. Inbody IS works well - you will get more useable pics at lower light/slower shutter speeds. The lenses are higher quality than typical kits lenses in terms of build, distortion and resolution, but are no faster. If you want better lower light performance, especially with the larger zoom for indoor sports, you might need to upgrade the lens. But get the 2 lens kit. It's an outstanding value and the kit lenses are great all purpose walkaround lenses. I did exhaustive web research and examined the following in hand D40X, D80, XTi, A100, and K10D before selecting on the E-510.
Very good camera easy to use and takes great action shots as well as stills. Best bang for the buck.
No problem giving this camera a big thumbs up!
This camera is amazing. You can make your pictures black and white, sepia, blue tinted, purple tinted, green tinted, etc.... It is cool that you have all of these functions.
It is small and has an excellent handle you can securely handle this SLR with one hand. I live in a wheelchair hence the nick Wheels and I have both arms in splints and love to take pix but the shaking has gotten worse and I bought and returned in a couple of days the Canon Rebel xti. I couldn't take a shot with it and the only way I could was to purchase a $700 image stabilization lens. I felt it not worth it and almost gave up until I slapped myself in the forehead and said wait I haven't researched nor handled the new e-510. I am so glad I did I take photos I couldn't before in low light and the shutter speeds are lower for better open time due to the camera body and its built-in image stabilization. I began my research and found nothing but praise from the reviews and from 2 sites that are always praising canon and Nikon they had an all stars for the E-5110 as well. If you need a little assistance to take a great pix then go with this SLR; it will get you here and then some! Great Job Olympus! Oh and I recommend the 70-300mm lens Zuiko has more quality then some have said but then they haven't shot with them either. I find them more than satisfactory for what I do. I take a great deal of night pix of Parking Lots doing site reviews for Accessible Parking Compliance and Restrooms and use of space for low sight mobility it does a great job there and on the ball field I play bocce... Great Job Olympus!
