Better that what i expected
Primarily bought this for the sewing capabilities and it has exceeded my expectations, although I find access to the bobbin area very difficult even with the wonky round screwdriver they provide. As to the embroidery, it does a great job on smaller projects. For a beginner it is assumed you have a basic understanding and working knowledge of the entire process to include stabilizers, downloading designs and designing designs (which requires a separately purchased software from digitizing software companies like Embrilliance. If you were like me and had zero previous embroidery knowledge, YouTube has a wealth of information.
Very happy with this machine both as a sewing machine and an embroidery machine. Perfect machine for a beginner.
I'm really happy with this machine. I've used both the embroidery and sewing features. It came in a Brother labeled box but not the original . All of the accessories were as listed. Other sites have offered the machine as reconditioned- but this is a Factory Refurbished unit which I feel is a major difference. Hopefully it continues to work well. If I needed to upgrade to an embroidery only machine I wouldn't hesitate to order another factory refurbished unit. I own 2 more vintage non-computerized machines and the extra features and quality of stitches have been impressive.
Arrived in perfect working condition, and we're very happy with it.
Machine arrived in perfect condition. It was clean on the inside too. Ive had it for about a month now and have not had any problems. I use embroidex embroidery thread, pellon water soluble stabilizer, and schmetz embroidery needles. The sewing feature also works great. Its not as fast as I expected, but its fine for me. The casing is plastic and is easily scratched by scissors so be careful when you're cutting your thread. Thread bunches up underneath every once in a while but the simple fix is to unscrew the metal plate and cut up the bunched up thread. Overall, this machine is an amazing value, though as other reviewers have said, buying refurbished comes with a risk.
machine works okay but dirty
I received the product in the mail with a crack in the screen. An hour later it rendered a code that makes the machine non-functionable.
