I love the quaint acting, the time period, The backgrounds,setting, I love the way it goes back to a more gentle time,The acting is so perfect and not without humor.
This is a very high quality dvd. I am a big fan of Agatha Christie and Poirot.Seeing the last stories of Poirot was a must, and this did not disappoint. The stories were well directed and well acted. I love having this dvd.
I am so going to miss David Suchet and Poirot, I'm so glad I have the entire collection! It's difficult to watch the last episode, but it's perfect Poirot.
Could not wait for PBS to show the final Poirot series, so I purchased the Blue-ray set. It was great! David Suchet was wonderful and will be sorely missed as Poirot.
This is the last of the Poirot series and I now have them all!! I couldn't do without it. It's so bittersweet. I'm thrilled to have the complete set to watch at my leisure but heartbroken there will be no new episodes. Thank you, Acorn!!
My husband and I have every Poirot DVD, and of course, had to get the final one. We LOVE David Suchet as Poirot, and even the final movie is fantastic! The way in which it was done, and how Poirot dealt with the issues was great! Bravo, Poirot- you're the best!
This final Poirot series is the best of the best! ITV have outdone themselves; from the camera close-ups, you could almost see Hercules' mind working. A wonderful triumph for Mr. Suchet and the rest of the wonderful cast. I will enjoy watching it over and over again.
Excellent production. Plot varied in some cases from books. Too bad series has ended for now. Perhaps David Suchet will appear in a production of the new Poirot mystery the `Monogram Murders`.
If you are a fan this set is well worth getting. A few of the episodes are a little slow moving but these are the films of the Christie books which David Suchet had not yet preformed so they are a little more difficult to transfer to film scripts. Over all I really enjoyed them and it is great fun seeing Hastings and Miss Lemon retired.
We have watched seasons 1-8 more than once, and they are wonderful- seasons 9-13 seem to be from another planet- except for the presence of Suchet, all has been changed, for the worse. Japp, Hastings, and Miss Lemon are gone except for brief cameos in a few episodes. The story line/ adaptation is poorly done, with out of character utterances by Poirot in virtually every episode ("how can I be so stupid!") and with the denouement always the same: suspects gathered in a room, Poirot delivering the reveal, etc etc. By comparison to seasons 1-8, these are an utter failure in writing and directing. For heaven's sake don't buy this!
