I did a lot of research and reading of reviews. I was expecting to be disappointed with this bug catcher, but thought for $10 it was worth a shot. I LOVE it!!! We are overrun with Panty Moths and I'm was sick of chasing them through the house, smashing them and missing them. Now I can suck up 9-10 moths in less than 1 minute: No touching, no smashing, no wiping up. I don't like that they are still alive, so I take them outside, tap them into a clear bag and step on them. Then throw it away. (I wish there was a way to kill them inside, but my husband laughed at me and said, "What were you wanting a blender inside?" No, I just didn't want to deal with live bugs.) I'd buy this product again and again!
This product works as described. It is a great little bug vacuum. It uses a 9 V battery as described and has a great pick-up! I liked it so much that I bought another two!!
This is a cool product. It sucks up the bugs and spiders quickly and gets them out of my house! Good suction and I dont have to even touch the bugs at all. I plan on using this on the yellowjackets that seem to get into my house during the summer.
The Lentek Mini Bug Vac is a a bit underpowered, especially for a device that uses a 9V battery, but with gentle prodding, it will collect bugs. The west side of my old house attracts beetles, and its eaves appeal to hornets and wasps. Every now and then, one of them gets into the house. The Mini Bug Vac has been tested at least a couple of dozen times this spring, and worked every time. The caps on both ends of the Mini Bug Vac don't fit very well (too loose) but that can be remedied with a couple of small pieces of scotch tape. Based on its performance to date, it's worth $10.
I bought this gadget to deal with Japanese beetles in the garden. It does the job just fine. It is powerful enough to pull this buggers in even if they are trying to fly away. It does take a little trying to learn how to use it efficiently: catch and shake the bug loose off the leaf. The unit only came with a large plug only, so I had to find a small cap for the attachement elsewhere. In summary 4 out of 5 but is recommended, especially for the money.
Could be a little stronger but works - not bad for the price
Good size, easy to use. Needs more suction power though.
I bought two of these mini vacs to help get rid of small, slow moths in my kitchen...what a disappointment and waste of money. I was able to get the bug into the tube without the vac but the challenge was to remove the nozzle and add the cap, What the online instructions do not tell you the nozzle has to be removed with the bug inside and then add the blue cap (without the bug flying or crawling out). This is hard to do with an active bug trying to escape. When I turned the vacuum on to move the bug down to the bottom it had no impact..the power is very weak but loud making it hard to catch anything. I will try to return this junk today..
I wanted to use this vaccum to trap small squash beetles from my garden squash plants. If the bug is on the leaf, I can nudge the beetle down the tube, but these tiny beetles have no problem flying away if they don't get nudged into the tube. The beetles have no problem marching up the tube with the vacuum on.
this was fun while it lasted but alas, the switch went out after one week. We will take it back tomorrow!
