We bought this fireplace 2 months ago and use it every weekend and thru the week. The 1st time we used it we left it uncovered and it developed some slight surface rust. To fix this problem we disassembled it, cleaned it up and bought some BBQ paint and painted all the black surfaces. Then went to walmart and purchased 2 $5:00 BBQ covers. We cut a hole large enough to fit over the chimney of the fireplace and reinforced the hole with black duct tape. We put this one on first and the other over it. We leave the cover off over night to let it cool down and we have had no problems with rust since. If maintained and used properly this fireplace is awesome. We have had some huge fires and everyone who sees it can't get over the beauty of it. This fireplace is NOT heavy. My wife moves by herself with no problem. Sure the metal is a bit thin but again if used properly you will have no problems. My whole family and all of our neighbors love this thing. We would recommend this item to everyone REMEMBER It only costs $ 129:00
My family practically lives on our outdoor patio, so I go through portable wood burning fire pits pretty quickly. I average one a year, for the past 8 years. I saw this fireplace online, and thought I'd give this one a shot, based on the price. It doesn't dissapoint. It took a fraction of the time to assemble it (than most in the past) and although it may not be quite as sturdy as other models, it holds full-size logs easily. So far, we've burned five or six roaring fires with no sign of wear yet. I'll post another review after the summer, to see how it stands up over time. It doesn't have wheels, so it's not as portable as other models, but it's not too heavy to pick up the entire unit and move by myself when needed. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for an attractive and pretty sturdy fireplace for the patio or backyard.
You will not be disappointed......super easy to put together......I love it. I've had it for about 2 weeks and it's been out side, but I went ahead and got a cover for it.....I'm not sure if it will rust or not.
This is a wonderful outside fireplace. It was so simple to put together, didn't take any time at all. Its so easy to clean, and has a grill to cook on also. We love sitting around it at night! My girlfriend next door likes it better than hers, and says she is going to exchange them when I'm not looking. I would recommend it to anyone. Oh and the price was really good, much cheaper than other online places.
It was very easy to put together It is so pretty when we start a fire in it. We have had a fire in it several times although we have not be able to enjoy it completly. It is still chilly here and very windy. I am SURE that it will be awesome this summer. PS the neighbors love it too..... maybe even a little jealous :)
We just love this product! We have had fires in it and had friends over to enjoy it also. The heat is lower to the ground unlike the table top fireplaces, this helpes keep your leggs and feet warmer. I would recommend this product!
Love the outdoor fireplace. Assembled easily and is very attractive. Door doesn't always close properly, the handle gets overheated (too hot to touch) and the ash drawer rusted a little but otherwise it's great. A fantastic addition to our patio. A must for those late Autumn evening gatherings. I would recommend to anyone who is looking for an attractive, functional outdoor fireplace at an economical price, that doesn't take up a lot of space.
We first purchased this model about 4 years ago and loved it! We used it often and it went through a flood in 06. It seemed ready to retire. However after seeing the lake of quality in the new one we did not get ride of the older one yet. The copper is for picture purposes only, the first fire we had the paint on the door went off. I used heat paint on the old one and it looks like this one needs as much care as the 4 year old model after one use. Quality has gone down hill on this one!!
We purcheased this item last fall and used it a total of 3 times. It was way too heavy to move into our garage and we thought that we might use it during the winter on nights where it wasn't too cold out. During the last three months is rusted out completly. My husband disassembled it last week and set it out for the trash. It was beautiful when we purchased it and we loved sitting out by the fires. I couldn't believe how quickly it was ruined. If you do purchase the item make sure you cover it after you use it! We won't purchase it again!
This product is so cheaply made it isn't worth $20 let alone the $130 you pay for it. It is flimsy and started to rust after 2 days outside. I took it back and got my money back. Save your self the hassle and skip this product.
