This works really well, even for a disabled person like me. It's not too heavy, has good balance, cuts well. Would recommen squirting a few drops of oil on chain / bar before use & during prolonged use. Wish it had a cord holder but hey, it's what it is.
does a good job, but claim about length is incorrect, the length is about 7 feet, does not telescope.
I had the unfortunate experience of the Guide plate weld opening, so only used this once & it was great. I can not fault the company for their customer service in trying to replace the plate, in two days the replacement part arrived (unfortunately the wrong sized one, the 8" not the 6" part). Again they are rushing me the part... Great back up service. Wish I could say more about the saw!!! :-)
Wasn't sure this would work for some trimming I have to do periodically on our vacant lot trees but.... it was fine. You need to oil it manually (no big deal) but it has plenty of power for small limbs. It does NOT telescope so the 12' reach includes your body height. It is a bit heavy for my wife to use by herself.
No more climbing on ladders for my precious husband to trim the brancches of our many trees!!!!!!
This product is awesome for clearing out any underbrush issues you may have. I have a lot of palmetto bushes that I am trimming back (and orther brush as well) and I did not want to get up close and personal since snakes tend to hide in them. I am a female and found it to be lightweight and easy enough for me to maneuver. My only two issues are: 1) the location of the safety button. Since I am right handed I was balancing the pole with my left hand and I had to hold the button down with the thumb on my right hand which caused my right arm to be twisted back at an unnatural angle. Once I switched hands it made for a much easier operation. 2) I wish it came with its own tool for tightening the chain like a regular chain saw does. It is smaller than a regular chain saw that tool will not fit so you will need to use a socket wrench and screwdriver to make adjustments on the chain.
Easy to put together. Worked very well to prune the palm tree.
The 6 inch cutting bar is really all you need for home use. If you need a bigger saw you might need a pro. This saw arrives needing the bar & chain installed so you will need a screwdriver and a Crescent type wrench to do the job. It's no big deal. Once assembled you will find it is has powerful motor and a very good Oregon chain that makes quick work of removing branches. Please read the manual and make your cuts using the 3 cut method as shown.
Works well, but no oiling mechanism. A little heavy to lever around higher up as the motor is at the top end of the unit making it a little top heavy. Also, the statement you can trim up to 12 feet is misleading as it includes the height of a six foot person. And to trim at 12 feet, you would need to be trimming right over your head, underneath the falling sawdust. All that said, it does function very well and the value is there.
