I wanted a small chainsaw and I also wanted to be able to reach some high branches down my long driveway without having to bring my portable generator towed along to provide electricity! I looked at a lot of extension chainsaw deals but this seemed to be the only one that let you have a small chaisaw to use at ground level and not be too cumbersome! TO MY great surprise this unit did it all so well--the 18v battery let me cut for about 1 hour at which point is was too tired to go it any longer anyways! I have now used both the Pole saw and the Chain saw and all it takes is a click of a button and the two units come apart and you then slide the battery unit onto the chainsaw unit and you have your cordless chain saw!! WONDERFUL IDEA
The 18v battery allows about 25-30 cuts of varying width from 1-6 inches in dry wood before needing to recharge. Charging time is about 3 hours. Cutting teeth on chain seem too far apart but functional and spares are inexpensive. Have not tried it on the pole attachment yet, but as a light duty hand held it is more than sufficient.
