How many women does it take to build this shed? Two! We got it together in about 5 hours (NOT including building the plywood platform and leveling it.) Only two complaints. 1) the help line is NOT available 24x7, 365 days/year. It was closed for three days over Labor Day weekend. Good thing we figured out the answer to our question ourselves... 2) It was a little scary to crawl on top of the shed to be able to push down on the roof while someone inside attached the last screws (we had only 5' stepladders.) But all in all, a very nice shed and relatively painless assembly.
This is exactly what I needed for my yard tools and equipment. Plus now I have more space in my workshop! It was super easy to construct. I did it by myself in 3 hours. The most time consuming part was building the platform. Included with the instructions is an easy to follow plan for construction of the platform if you choose to do so instead of a concrete pad. Yes you need to be somewhat proficient with measuring and cutting wood and also making sure it is perfectly level. But once it was built erecting the shed was a breeze. So far there are no leaks what so ever (it rained for 2 days after I built it). We will see how it handles the cold and windy winter here in Northern Wyoming! But all in all I'm very pleased.
even though it took me longer to get the job done I was every pleased at the end results. Things would have been easier and quicker with a second pair of hands but I made it. If you layout the parts it makes things easier. Instructions pretty easy and the pictures help. Just make sure you have a large enough vehicle that can handle the load. Now its time to get some things out of the garage. I recommend this shed for the value and how easy it is to put together.
Make sure your foundation is perfect! My doors won't shut because I have it temporarily on my back patio which is slightly out of level. The doors won't shut. Otherwise it's a really quality shed. I did the math and you save about $400 over building a shed from scratch. Assembly took about 4.5 hours with setup and clean up plus a quick lunch break. Some panels needed coaxing to get together but eventually they got there. You can put this together by yourself however you could benefit from an additional hand when assembling the roof.
I bought this just clean out the garage and store kids toys in. It will work for that. It is very easy to put together. It took me 2 hours by myself start to finish. That's the great part. I do worry about how it all screws together at the roof and along the ridge. Only time will tell.
You can't beat this shed for the price. Put aside some time to put it together. You will need 2 people. We put this on a concrete slab, and since it wasn't perfectly level the roof wouldn't snap in properly. We put some wood under one side of the shed and that did the trick. Once you have a level surface everything snaps in great. The interior of the roof is annoying to put together, but it's a kit and it works as it should. We ended up doing this partially one day and partially on a 2nd day because of the level issue, but it could be done in just a couple of hours if you have a level surface and patience. Read the directions completely before you do it, it makes all the difference.
Received it yesterday and erected today! It took me (By myself) 2 hours to: -Have all items pre-assembled -Lay and secure the floor. -Erect the walls and trusses complete, before I needed help with the roof panels. Very pleased with the unit as a whole, however the one drawback was the sizable gaps were the wall panels met the roof panels (Eve). Gaps where sizable enough to allow bugs in, so I used latex caulking on the inside and all is good.
The product is very very cute and after awhile and some compromises I got it together. Their seem to be a few small manufacturing problems regarding fit which I had to overlook. The roof was hard to assemble. I couldn't get it completely right but you wouldn't notice. One thing that I think works is to completely skip the recommendation they have to build a 6x6 slab or a 2x6 wood foundation. You can assemble this in 4-6 hours.
Shed looks great - but have a few problems During assembly. The pieces of the roof truss did not fit into eachother - literally Had to hammer / bend them together. The actual roof panels were a nightmare to piece together. Did not like that it did not come with the lag bolt / washer to anchor shed into wood frame. After all was done - one of the doors has to be lifted slightly when closing. After 10 hours of work - this makes me really upset. I made a perfectly level foundation (which costed approx 180$ in wood) and the doors still were messed up. Otherwise - shed is great though.
So far I have had this shed for only one week so I can't say much for the durability of this shed. It was not too difficult to put together. Definitely needs two people to put together. The roof is definitely the hardest part to put together. Very roomy inside and the height is good, no need for bending down to get in or inside. Once put together seems pretty sturdy and this type of material should last a lifetime. Must have a solid base for the shed to sit on. Either a concrete base or a wood platform off the dirt.
