[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this about a month ago, and it is very nice and sturdy. Makes a great garage. Just make sure that you have a couple of friends to help you. One person cannot do this by themselves. It is a 3 man project. Once it is completed, you will be very satisfied with it. Very sturdy and well made. If you want a drive through, then you should order the rear zippered door panel. I highly recommend this Garage to anyone on a budget. I can only give this a 5 star rating, because, there are no more stars. Great buy.
I bought the suv garage in a box 10 years ago. I upgraded to the heavier material after the roof fabriic started to show wear along the peak after about 4 years. I also added a foam pipe insulation along the ridge poles. The heavier fabric and pipe insulation has done well for 6 years now. I live in Kansas where there are high winds and have had no issues. Originally I bought this to store my VW camper but now it is my home gym and I love it.
Let me start by making it perfectly clear that I do love this product however, with that being said I must point out something that is totally incomprehensible to me. The so-called instructions, the entire book is pretty much worthless, if you look at photo (B) the Parts Identification page, it will give you a picture, amount of pieces and a part number for each piece however this page should be your first clue that something askew. There is absolutely description, such as size etc. and is not found in any paper work, anywhere. For example we have three (3) different bolt lengths included in the parts, 12 of one, 32 of another and 58 of the third, now mind you that all these blots are identical with the exception of a maximum length difference of 3/16" between them. [note] We also have 102 nuts, 102 bolts and for some reason only 20 washers, I guess someone felt that their was no need for all of them to have washers. Now looking at the rest of the pages we have many pretty pictures but absolutely NO WORDS to be found, nothing, no indications or clues on what piece to start with or ANYTHING of the sort, like informing you to NOT tighten certain bolts because they will need to be removed again during the construction and then replaced again. I am amazed that any person that had anything to do with the writing and or editing of this booklet could of even let something like this be published. What an embarrassment for the company, in my opinion and some people would of surly been fired.
I've had this for 14 months and it went through a pretty rough winter with no issues. It sits in the sun most of the day as there are no trees over it so it does get extremely hot inside during the summer. I leave the door open most times so never rigged up the roll-up system that is provided. It needs to be well anchored as it is big enough to be a sail. I knew this from experience with other garages. It tends to let the snow slide right off without needing to chase it with a broom. Only disappointment is the lifespan of the cover as the other Garage-In-A-Box I have lasted much better (frame design is better on the Garage-In-A-Box SUV however). The cover just split after a heavy rain (no wind) the other day. My only complaint so far.
Cover failed dramatically after about 13 months, conveniently right after the warranty expired. Properly installed, mild weather, no physical damage or abuse. It just rotted away and split right down the middle. Sadly, it's still the best bang for the buck.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this Last Summer and a long the whole bottom look like it was scored a straight line along the whole bottom and in places it ripped I thought when I put it together it was just glued together and it would hold and it did not cuz it is starting to rip
I bought this garage in a box 16 month ago for storage. After setting it up I noticed some tiny pinholes but wasn't really concerned about it. I also had to replace some nuts and bolts that where missing,no big deal.A view bucks out of my pocket but thousands of profit for the manufacturer. Thinking that I purchased a high quality product I left it pretty much unattended. Oh my,was I wrong. About a week ago I noticed some weakspots but wasn't to concerned. Yesterday I went I to the shed and I thought that someone installed a lighfixture how nice. Dont buy this product if you live where the sun comes up in the morning. Shelterlogic knows why they give it only a year warranty.
I bought this shelter just a year and a half ago, and today the fabric split down the entire length of the roof. It is the first snow of the year and the winds were only about 15 mph. It looks as though it separated at a seam in the fabric.
I bought this garage in late April of 2017. My wife and I got it setup mid may. we bought it to give shelter to our boat in the winter. The frame design is great. We were happy to find a shelter tall enough and designed to have the snow slide off. Unfortunately 6 months after putting it up this spring, it has failed to even come close to lasting to the first snow. We are very disappointed. The top ridge of the cover split right down the center. now cold weather is approaching and we have nowhere to house our boat. After reading so many similar cases to mine with the top splitting I wish I would looked elsewhere for a good solution that would last more than 6 months.
Purchased this garage a little over a year ago. Frame assembly holes were misaligned and had to be re drilled. Recently noticed a tear in the main cover where the roll up door rope connects to the cover. Upon further inspection I discovered that little to no pressure on the cover with my finger will make a hole. Cover will not last another winter.
