I never did smoked before since I bought I have smoked 2 briskets, Chicken drum sticks, pork shoulder, salmon, corn, bake beans. All within a week. Next up ribs. Wish the bluetooth had a further range.
This smoker is very good. MB has improved on several points from previous models. This is the 3rd MES I've owned each model gets better. I love the controls - very intuitive and seemingly more weather resistant. I'm am hoping to get the finishing kit for Christmas from the kids. If I could give more than 5 starts I would
I love my Masterbuilt smoker. Every year I smoke tons of meat and cheese for my family, especially for Christmas presents.last Christmas I smoked 12 racks of ribs and 50 lbs of cheese plus 5 lbs bacon. Lots of other things like pulled pork and brisket are smoked yearly, and I make the best smoked turkey you ever tasted at Thanksgiving and delicious tomahawk steaks. My Masterbuilt does it all year after year
Totally inexperienced smoker and my first ever purchase. I installed every accessory to it other than the leg and wheel kit and followed the instructions to the T. Everything fit and worked perfectly. So far we have smoked two pork shoulders, a rotisserie chicken and eight pounds of wings. Not so much as a hiccup. I like the fact that a chunk of wood in the burner lasts around four hours. Even the app has worked relatively well, although the range is quite limited. All in all I have been pleasantly surprised with the performance and my results. I attribute this to the quality of the smoker and Johns easy to follow Dadgum recipes!
I bought this and the unit is beautiful. I have not used it yet, opened it up to put together and there is a dent in the front. It wasn't big enough to return as it would be a hassle.
I have always used a propane smoker. Decided to try the electric smoker and found out the first time smoking it is junk. I was able to season it at 265 while noticing the temperature will drop to 240 And back to 265 figured it was normal. Today on memorial day I have two pork butts and four racks of ribs temperature held at 225 for about an hour and a half and then drop to 90 and will not go any higher. I put it up to 275 to see if it would climb and nothing happens.
Seasoned smoker according to directions, worked fine. After an hour and a half of smoking my meat it gave an error 2 code and won't do anything. Cannot get it to reset all. Ruined my meat
Upon assembly I found some of the rack rails were broken, and there was a slight dent in one side. Pre-seasoning went well, but I started having issues upon first use. The smoker worked fine for about an hour, but then I found it had thrown an error (Err2). It appeared that the main heating element had turned off, and the secondary element was in overdrive. So I unplugged the unit for a min, and started the process again. It ran good for 45 min and then threw the same error. This process went on for the next few hours while the meat was being smoked. This smoker is only usable with constant supervision to watch for errors. The reason I chose an electric smoker was so that I did not have to constantly tend to it.
I SMOKED WITH THIS 4 TIMES. THEN IT STARTS SAYING ERROR 2. I LOOK IN THR BACK PANEL AND THE WHOLE THING IS JUST FREE WIRES. THE TEMPERATURE CONTROL ELEMENT WAS NEVER PUT TOGETHER. I CONTACTED CUSTOMER SEVICE AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD CONTACT ME. NEVE HEARD ANYTHING AGAIN. DO NOT BUY. IM OUT $$$
My 1st experience with it was after the 1st 4 hours of use when the internal paint started to peel around the edge of the door seal and a Tech service support person said this is normal I've had to replace the cord because the ground prong came out of it and now my smokers get again because the digital control pain all needs to be replaced For a professional Unit or whatever it says it is the worst smoker I've ever own
