This is the second replacement of this 6" globe in the last 15 years. (We like it that much!) the first stopped working about 7 or 8 years after we got it, that's not bad. This one is replacing one that did ot survive a major hail storm with golf ball sized hail. but it did last at least 5 years. We like these globes (Also have a 8" one in our Koi pond)because they are waterproof, no maintenance required and they are extremely pleasing to watch change colors.Especially I the Koi pond.
Because I bought the original one in 2013, I had a hard time finding this one! Also it yellowed badly so I bought the Sun Guard UV Protectant. Time will tell if this works as we have lots of sun! :)
I was so excited to use these lights however they are not waterproof and after putting them in the pool they leaked water into the battery in one day. too bad. It would be nice to have a remote control too rather than having to open them each time you turn them on or off or changing from white to color.
They are not waterproof and the colors are very difficult to get to stay on a color to match the others on e you've set them.
