I've been wanting a motion sensor light in my backyard on the patio for years, but my husband didn't want to run electrical wires out there. So, when I saw this item, I thought it would be perfect. It took my husband literally 8 minutes to install it...although it took about 20 minutes for us to decide where to install it! :) It works perfectly. The sensor works from about 20 feet away and lights up most of my deck, which is 20ft by 20ft. I mentioned that it wasn't as bright as the LED motion sensor light we have in the side yard, but my husband said it was pretty bright for something battery/solar powered, not electrically wired. Overall, I'm very satisfied.
This does exactly what I was hoping it would and is brighter than I thought it would be
I had plans to use 2 of these motion lights around my garage and walkway. Both arrived in good shape. No assembly required other than snapping on a cover over the controls. Batteries are included. There is a 4 position control switch - OFF - TEST - 1 Minute On - 5 Minute On. When the switch is moved from OFF to TEST the light will flash on for a moment. One of the units did and has been working properly with a nice 1 minute light on days when it receives enough sunlight. The other unit did not perform the TEST flash and also did not charge and/or would never turn ON. I returned this defective unit. I am pleased with the working unit that I have installed to light may walkway. I use the 1 minute setting. I think that the 5 minute setting would completely drain the batteries with 1 activation. e.g. an animal walks by and activates the light, and I come home 10 minutes later and the batteries are drained.
Works good. Easy to set up.
I like the small size, it has excellent light power and the motion sensor is very good because I have a very dark backyard and this unit does detect movement in that area.
Detects motion well and turns on immedietly but not very bright.
the motion did not work and the light brightness was equal to a lit match. we left it in the sun all day no change. took it back to wal mart for a refund. wasted about $6.50 on shipping cost
