[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Had several large trees to clear out. I started the job with my 14 year old Husky 359. After taking the tree down I accidentally ran over the bar destroying it. While waiting for a replacement bar for the 359 I decided to pick up the 450 Rancher to finish the job. Right out of the box the 450 made quick work of the largest tree without issue. It was a massive cottonwood that, once cut up, measured about 1 and 1/2 cords. I now favor the 450 to my 359. Great saw!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Borrowed a 450 rancher to work on trees downed in a tornado that devastated our neighborhood, when my smaller Stihl was clearly not enough...Very impressed, and clearly the best saw of any that we were using. Easy to start, cuts fast and easy, not too heavy to cut all day. No issues whatsoever - just ran great every day for a week. Reluctantly returned and I just bought a 545 to replace it.
Bought this saw to help at a few properties of the parents. This saw starts easily. I kept waiting for it to run out of gas, but it took a bit than usual-of course I was intermittently using it. Handles well. Very low vibration. Lighter that it looks.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Received an early Father's Day gift. The 450 Rancher performed without a hitch! Quick to start and ran with lots of power with very low vibration. Cut thru an 18 inch, sixty-year-old mesquite tree.
Owned this saw for a couple of months now and have tested it very well since we had 18 very mature and oak trees later down on our property. Some of the trees were 40 plus inches wide! Saw has performed flowlessly. Very happy I purchased this saw. Very efficient on fuel and bar oil compared to my older saws.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this saw three or four years ago to turn a downed tree into firewood. It worked very well, but always leaked a lot of bar oil. After a certain point, the thing was unusable. It was just dumping bar oil out of the bottom. The internet wasn't much help with finding the problem. Ultimately after some disassembly of the saw, I was able to locate the problem. In the bottom, there's a plug/oil screen in the bar oil tank. That had come loose. Part of it had broken, due to a manufacturing defect, most likely. I reinstalled it, sealing it with some thread locker and now it runs and oils flawlessly. Have been using it for felling and bucking large dead trees since the repair. If it weren't for that random defect, this would be a five star review. I plan to buy a pro level saw next.
