I bought this as a g-between for my standard 5hp-push, and my 18hp-Rider. I mad a wise choice!!,,it is a BRUTE for a walk-behind!! cuts my tall-grass up-to 3ft!!,,NO-PROB!! so if I have a mower down for repairs,, This gets the Job done!! Worth Every cent!!,,Highly Recommended!!!
This is the second time I have purchased this mower. I accidently hit a tree stump and broke the first one. This mower is excellent to operate. The rear wheel drive works really great. I have cut my mowing time in half with it. This is a perfect mower for a woman to operate. There is littlle to no effort in using it. Love it! That's why I purchased it again.

Starts on the 1st pull every time. I used it to mulch and bag my leaves didn't hesitate. This mower uses E85 gas, that means savings , 20 or more cents per gallon. I waited till my mowing season was ending before giving my rating. I couldn't be happier with this mower. The out side temperture was in the high 40's when mulching and bagging leaves. Yes it started 1st pull. I was concerned, if it would start in colder weather, since there is no choke or finger pump for the carb. I think it actually ran better. Due to cold air is compressed and has a higher oxygen mix with the gas my guess. ***Buy American with confidence.***
I bought this lawn mower because it is rear wheel drive that it is supposed to ride better in my slant backyard. After testing it in this condition I noticed that it is worse than my old front wheel drive lawn mower, which is less powerfull than this. Actually it made me push it harder uphill than my old mower. Overall it is good but it does not deserve the extra dollars I paid for more power (7.5 HP) and RWD. If I had to buy it again I would go for a Toro that is equivalent and 30 dollars less at Home Depot
I've had this mower for about a month and used it three times. It worked great....three times. On the fourth, it started up, ran for a few minutes, then died. There should be NO problem with less than 5 hours of run time on it.
Just bought this mower brand new got it home wont start. Almost started once but died. after a hour of pulling the cord and a sore arm im driving back in into the store for a return. Thanks for the sore arm and the day spent wasted driving to and from the store. This automatic choke thing need some tweaking Briggsandstraton.
Waisted my money. Bought this mower this summer, the back wheels will not stay tight and the blade keeps coming loose, have to tighten both rear wheels and blade after every use. Is not a great item to buy.
I bought this mower after having some starting issues with my 8 year old Weedeater brand mower. I figured that I only need a push mower for trim work and for mowing around the flower beds and bushes. This mower looked to be a great mower with the specs and features. The first time I used it was beautiful. It mowed like a champion and made me feel that I had made the right choice. The second time I used it, it died out during mowing and has never started since. I can't believe it, it has less than 2 hours of use on it and it is already dead. At that rate, I could have paid a lawn mowing crew to have done the work and saved a lot of money in the end. I can't say that I have ever purchased a Brute product before but after this encounter, I can't say that I would ever buy one again.
We have had ours less than a month now and it won't start. It did cut the grass really good when it was working and my husband loved it, but we are truly disappointed. We bought American made to support our country and then this happens. My husband is on his way back to the store as I sit here typing to return it :( Probably replace it with one just like it and give it one more try. I will let you know how it works.
