This is the second one of these I have purchased. The first one lasted 6 years. When it finally gave out (it was cheaper to buy a new one than replace the battery) I got the exact same one again. I am female and this is light weight enough for me to use for an hour or more at a time. In Calif. I only have a small area to blow. But when I bought my first one I lived in Mississippi and had 3/4 of an acre that was landscaped and I do like a very neat and clean yard. I used it several times a week for an hour or more each time.
The Black & Decker Cordless Broom is exactly what I expected. It replaced an older model that finally failed. I use the cordless broom each morning and it works fine. The charger/storage holder is very handy.
Easy for me to handle and doesn't put stress on my back. I don't have to worry about tripping over a cord which is why I was looking for a cordless and was very happy Wal-Mart had this product on-line. Only took a week to receive from the time I ordered which was nice. Very happy with the service.
I have used this product once now and was quite pleased with the performance. It is used for personal use and I require about 5 minutes of blowing after mowing. The airflow was considerably less but more funneled than previous gas blowers I have used but was still quite sufficient for the job and actually gives more control over where you're blowing. The off switch also allows you to easily turn the tool off when you do not want to blow. This blower is very quiet compared to gas models and there are no exhaust fumes or messy fuels to deal with. Therefore, this blower rates very high on my environmentally friendly list. However, remember that this tool is powered by a sealed lead acid battery which is replaceable at your local battery store but the old battery should be recycled to keep our environment clean and healthy. Any battery supply store would be happy to take your old battery.
The product itself looks and behaves well it just is not as strong and I would have liked it to be. It just barely will do my patio and driveway. I think I should have got the next one up in power to do a better job. Still for a cordless it is a good buy if you have a very small patio to keep clean of leaves and debris
Product is heavy and not as powerdful as I would expect for the weight. Heavy for a woman to use.
The tool would be a great product to have if it had a battery you could replace. It doesn't. It reminds me of the Dustbusters of old. The ones you left plugged in all time but it never had enough power for any job. Well, this cordless broom doesn't have enough power. Don't waste your money.
GOOD PRODUCT BUT JUST TOO HEAVY FOR ME TO HANDLE, IT WAS ALMOST AS HEAVY AS THE GAS BLOWER I HAVE THAT I CANNOT HANDLE ANYMORE. I DID GET ANOTHER TYPE BLACK AND DECKER BLOWER THAT IS LIGHT WEIGHT AND GOOD FOR ME TO USE.
A nice to hold lightweight cordless 12V rechargable blower, but that is where it ends. Followed instructions leaving on its base charger for the first 48-hours. I'd expect at least 10-15 minutes of use, what I experienced was only about 3-minutes strong run-time (at best). I could barely finish (leaf blowing) my two-car garage and driveway! After a one-week charge with the same results I returned for a refund. I did contact Black & Decker's 1-800 hotlline and was told the total normal run-time is approximately 10-12 minutes. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!!!
Unit only runs for less than 5 minutes.
