Strong L'il Bugger

Of all my five greenworks tools, this is so far my fave. The blower is adjustable and has a turbo power when needed. When I walk between areas I am working, I just turn the thumb knob to low. I have not used the vacuum yet, but will for sure when the leaves start to fall.

Greenworks 40V blower/vac

Works great. I use mostly the vacuum feature to suck up leaves from flower beds and the gutter of the street. Works best with dry leaves. Battery life is a little short but I have multiple batteries since I also have a Greenworks lawn mower. Buttons are small as other reviewers have commented but not a problem if you take off your gloves for a second.

Answers the call!

This blower answers the call! I had to hear it back a bit blowing pine needles out of my rocks. It was throwing rocks the size of golf balls out of my rock gardens! Very pleased! Adding to my Greenworks yard tools. Snow blower shovel works great also!

Bypass bad switch

I have the blower/vac 185. As you have read, the switch goes out. And if you do not want to spend the money buying a new one because yours is still good here's a quick fix to bypass that bad switch. He will be required to take all the screws out, open up the top and pull the circuitboard out the hole leaving it attached. Once out unplug the circuitboard get a short piece of wire, and you will momentarily plug it into slot 1 and two, make sure you have a battery in there, so the blower will come on. Do the same thing to power off or pull the battery. I know it's not ideal but it will save you money.

Powerful and handy

This is my second leaf blower of the same model. Previous one lasted for about 7 years. Before purchasing, I made comparisons with many different models but still come back to this one. This tool is extremely handy for a mid-sized yard, which requires around 3 seasonal heavy-load cleaning. My front yard landscape is layered with volcanic rocks and dense trees/bushes, and requires high speed flow to get into difficult holes and culprits. The Vac function is handy in many occasions. Each of my seasonal cleaning sessions requires about 4 batteries (~ 14AH) straight without waiting for recharge. My only complain (minus one star) is Greenworks' battery marketing strategy -- too many different battery spec also limits my options to up my garden tool arsenals (mostly greenworks products).

Excellent tool, just one problem

I've used these blowers in my gardening business for years. They are strong and reliable. However, eventually the on-off switch wears out, long before there are any other problems. It's a design defect and you can't buy another switch. Keep your warranty info because you'll need a new blower when that happens. Still, it's a good tool and it works with the Gmax battery that also powers many other Greenworks tools.

The charge doesn't last long..

I already have the Greenworks Pole Hedger and love it so I when I saw this, I was excited. I've had it for a couple of weeks and have used it a few times. It DEPLETES my 40v battery within 15-20 minutes. I can barely finish blowing my porch. The mulcher didn't even last as long as the blower... :-( I'm returning it this week...

Poorly designed on/off switch

For the most part I am happy with vacuum/shredder. (I never use it as a blower.) Unfortunately, the recessed on/off button with its plastic cover is very hard to turn on or off. It is nicely water proof, but it is poor ergonomics. When cold weather arrived and I put on gloves, it became impossible. Every time I want to turn it on or off I have to take off my glove. Cold fingers make it even harder to push the switch. I really like the cordless feature and the battery is compatible with my lawn mower, but the on/off button is a major nuisance.

Poor performance

It works well as a blower. It sucks as a vacuum. But it's still useful and very easy to use. You might want to get extra batteries if you're going to use it as a vacuum often. The vacuum gets stuck often specially if you're vacuuming chunks of leaves...the interruption is annoying. It doesn't work if the leaves are wet. It'll work for damp leaves on the highest setting but then it kills your battery after 10 minutes. The bag doesn't filter the dust so you'd have to wear a face mask. My hair and body was completely covered in dust after using it for 15 minutes.

We recently cleaned out our tools room and replaced them with Greenworks tools. The problem is in the "Batteries." The are too big bulky have short life spam expensive, and they are Extremly hard to Remove. This was a big mistake, the designers should have never let this happen. More and more women are using mens tools. It takes two people to remove these horrible batteries.
