A Great Yard and Patio Cleaning Tool

Reviewed in the USA on 2015-09-13T17:00:00

When I first started looking at leaf blowers the variety of different types was at first confusing. First there are two basic types: electric and gas powered leaf blowers. Electric blowers can come in corded or battery operated. The two types are rated differently: corded electric blowers are rated in amps and battery operated types are rated in volts. When trying to compare corded blowers with battery blowers it can be confusing so to discover their relative power look at the other specifications usually given such as CF/M (cubic feet per minute) and wind velocity measured in MPH (miles per hour). The general rule is this: the higher or larger number is better and represents more power and performance. When I looked at the Worx 7.5a Corded Electric Blower I had a very simple need and requirement. I have a 50 foot drive way, two medium sized patios and a single space covered car port that I wanted to keep clean from leaves, twigs and other wind blown debris. This 7.5 a model is not Worx's top of the line unit and I knew I was selecting a unit that wasn't the most powerful. I wanted something that could get the job done for a reasonable cost. Buying more than you need is just wasting money. When my Worx 7.5a unit arrived after ordering it online there were only three pieces in the box - the blower unit and the wind funnel that comes in two pieces. All three pieces snap together easily and firmly. The only other item you will need is an appropriate length extension cord that reaches into the area you wish to clean. I was able to find a 50 foot extension cord for less than $15.00 after careful searching on the internet. I plugged in my blower and gave it a spin. It worked very well indeed and I cleaned my driveway and patios in no time at all. The Worx 7.5a blower has more than enough power for my simple requirements and did a great job. When researching this model, I read a few negative reviews that complained that this blower didn't have enough power. I can't imagine what they were attempting to blow away because it effortlessly blew leaves, twigs and pine needles 20 feet away from me while I was cleaning my drive way. When one considers the cost versus its performance, the Worx 7.5a Corded Electric Blower is a great tool that I could easily recommend to my friends and associates.

The Worx 7.5 amp electric blower arrived fairly quick and was in very good condition the product was in perfect shape when the box arrived I thought that it was going to be smaller then it really is when I pulled out of the box I was surprised that it was so big and nice my old one got crushed when a storm dropped a tree down on my shed and left the blower in pieces it was a good one but not near as big as this one nor did it have the power this one has the Worx 7.5 AMP ELECTRIC BLOWER has two speeds the low is more powerful then my old one and the high would have blown my old one to pieces the 7.5 amps equals 1.2 horsepower and is a pretty stout motor on low it has 340 cubic feet per minute of air pressure and on high it has 400 cubic feet of air pressure per minute which is strong enough to do any job and do it well I use to keep grass cuttings under control with no effort the papers say that on low the air speed is ninety miles per hour and on high it is one hundred and ten miles per hour though I have no way to test that but the power it puts out I believe it is that strong and 120 volts it is a power horse the blower has two attachments the large one is almost sixteen inches and the hyper stream nozzle is just over seven inches which makes the overall length at about thirty seven inches the hyper stream nozzle is a great addition because it works so well in those tight and hard to reach areas it has a powerful jet like power with this nozzle on it I use it in the court yard and back patio it makes a quick job of it the blower tubes are very easy to put together they just snap into the slots and are very solid when they are in place this is a very well made blower and it weighs in at 6.4 pounds and it has a three year limited warranty you can not go wrong with this Worx 7.5 AMP Electric Blower I am truly satisfied with this one and will definitely recommend this to others and it gets a 10 from me.

WORX TURBINE 400cfm, Massively Powerful, and Light  They named this blower aptly, it has tons of Power, I love the balance too, and it's very Ergonomic and feels great in your hand. It's light enough not to become a Burden after using it for a while. When it shows up in the box, it's very easy to assemble, just click on the two end tube pieces, (you can't mess it up), and you're good to go.  I used it for our sidewalk and carport and would've used it for leaves, but we don't have any yet, getting ready for that  Overall it has awesome Power and moves dirt, gravel and everything else like it's nothing at all. Cleaned all I could do with it, and I'm super impressed at the Power it has and it blows like no tomorrow, truly wasn't sure what to expect on it when I ordered it, but couldn't be happier that I did! 5 stars all the way for Power, Feel, Weight and Quality, Awesome Performance, Highly, Highly recommend this one.  Believe this will be my Christmas present for all the guys in our family. I think it would be a huge hit, what guy doesn't love Power. They hit the nail on this one!

Worx works!

I had the privilege of testing the Worx electric blower for the Spark Review program. I'm glad I did. I've never used a blower before, so I didn't know what to expect. Once I turned the blower on, I immediately realized the power this blower has. Anything that wasn't of substantial weight was blown out of the way. It was quite funny actually. Thank goodness it has two speeds. My husband had just mowed the lawn, so this was the perfect time to test it out. It worked like a charm. It was lighter in weight than expected, around six pounds. This made for easier maneuvering and handling. It's not bulky and fits nicely in the hand. I am a female and had no problems handling it. Assembly was easy and was ready to go once put together. As for item specifications, this is a 7.5 amp electric blower. Sure, there are other blowers with more amps, but I can tell you from my experience, I don't see that it is necessary for more amps. This blower stood it's ground with what it has. With its high capacity air volume and turbine fan technology, the Worx blower could give NASA rockets a run for their money. It's that good! A feature that I particularly liked was the hassle free cord retainer. Once you plugged the blower in, the retainer kept the cord pretty much in place and out of the way. If you're looking for a good blower that will get the job done and not cost an arm and a leg, I suggest you give this one a try.

Awesome Blower Worx!

The WORX 7.5 amp electric blower is awesome. I had back surgery so I needed a light weight blower but not one that compromises power. The WORX is powerful. I had my doubts but when I plugged it in and turned it on I had my garage floor cleaned in seconds. I cannot wait for fall to kick in so I can blow the leaves instead of trying to rack. It comes in a small box so I was thinking this was going to be small, but it is in 3 pieces and it snapped together in seconds. I like this as once the season is over I can take it apart and it will store nicely in the storage cabinet. I know people say dragging a power cord around is a pain but all you have to do is buy a 100 foot extension cord and with most yards this will work. The issue with gas powered units is weight and maintenance for the engine. The WORX is light enough that my wife said she can use it. I recommend the WORX 7.5 amp electric blower.

I'll begin by saying that the inside is my domain and the outside is his, and he wasn't too happy when he saw the blower box. I've tried for years to talk him into the idea of me having a lightweight electric blower just to help him out in between his yard maintenance days. But he would never budge on the subject. My husband began 30 plus years ago working as a landscaper and he has never owned anything but a commercial backpack blower. There's no way I can use one of those, I can't even pull the cord to crank it! And anything else has never been acceptable. I had planned to put it together, use it and then show and tell him that I could really help him out. But he saw the box when it was delivered. After going back over the same tired resistance to the idea and him realizing that I intended to use it regardless, he took over and I started filming it. From a man who knows yard maintenance equipment inside and out, he was very impressed. And I was very happy about that! I love to walk through our grass barefoot but hate the acorns that drop from our neighbor's tree. My hubby has always told me that a girly blower wouldn't move them unless I spent the day blowing one at a time. He told me that I would see that with this blower. I still figured something was better than nothing. Anyway, unboxing was just 3 pieces; main unit, big tube and small end tube. That simple. It doesn't have a cord, just a plug to attach to your extension cord. Some people probably wouldn't like that but I do. It makes it easier to carry and store. We have our extension cords already placed on all sides of our home because almost everything we use has to have one attached anyway. I would like to see more things "un-corded" just to make them lighter and easier to store. It also has a piece to pull the cord through to hold it in place. So he turned it on and it did the job! It blows great and blew the acorns out of the grass, yay!! I am so happy with this blower mainly because he likes it! He is a man who doesn't impress easily. He finally let me use it, and it was the first time I've ever had a blower in my hands. I don't have anything to compare it to but I could use it with no problem. According to the booklet, it weighs 6.4 lbs and I don't understand any of the other technical specs, but I'm sure they're in the product description. I will end with the observations that he made ~ Pros: lightweight, powerful, quiet (at least we consider it very quiet because we are only used to hearing extremely LOUD gas commercial blowers) and no need to worry about fuel storage and maintenance ~ Cons: Corded and limited to access to electrical outlet and cord length. He gives it 5 stars and I give it a BIG thumbs up because now I can give him the rest of my hand and help him out! Highly, HIGHLY recommend this blower!!

POWER IN YOUR HANDS

With my very own orange (outdoor) extension cord, I was ready to put Worx to work! On the plus side: 1. Simple instructions, easy to put together. 2. Settings - Very strong on Low. Definitely turbo-charged on High. 3. Quick and easy to use. Around Aircon Condenser and Pipes - It used to be almost impossible to keep this hard-to-reach area free of dirt and leaves. Today, it took less than 5 minutes to clear - see Photo # 1! In our Backyard - It was very good at "herding" all the leaves, flower cuttings, and debris into a corner to sweep up. I could actually blow everything as far away as 10 feet in front of me and remove all the fallen leaves from our flower beds and from around the base of each bush and tree. No more bending and raking. 4. There's a specially-designed clasp to loop the electrical cord over. No accidental disconnects. On the minus side: 1. If there is a drawback.. it's TOO powerful. One wrong move and, oops, pebbles, leaves and dirt fly everywhere! Wish there was an option to start at a lower setting. I would then blow the leaves directly into our yard bin - Photo # 2 - and eliminate some sweeping. 2. The blower is a bit bulky, and started feeling heavy after a while. I'm thinking shoulder strap. 3. Noisy. Earplugs might be an idea. Next - To remove all the leaves and twigs (from City trees) that get caught up in our junipers and along the edge of our front lawn. Can't wait to use our new Worx blower to make this BIG job a small one!!

WORK 7.5 Amp Electric Bolwer

The nozzle of the blower snaps into place easily thanks to a good design and great securing latches. The overall length of the fully assembled blower is 37 inches. It weighs weighs 6.4 pounds and runs on 120V-60Hz power. A female connector is attached to the blower body and has a provision for an extension cord securing tether, a nice touch and prevents annoying unwanted disconnects. The handle is of a generous size and will easily accommodate a winter gloved hand. The on off and speed change switch is conveniently located on the top of the handle. It is a roller switch an can be easily activated with a gloved hand. The blower has two speeds a low and high. On low the air speed is 90 mph and the cfm is 340. On high the air speed increases to 110 mph and the cfm's go up to 400. This is a serious and robust air mover nothing wimpy about it. It is loud and you will need to ware hearing protection and good pair to goggles. You will be amazed at the volume of air and force this blower has. I have used my blower to dry my car, start a stubborn fire, blow out my garage as well as move fallen leaves. I like it and would highly recommend it to a friend or anyone in the market for a plug in blower. As a bonus the blower comes with a tree year limited warranty and is made by a well respected and experienced manufacturer.

My husband was very surprised when the electric blower was delivered. I hadn't told him I had requested it. We were very happy that this WORX 7.5 Amp Electric Blower turned out to be very high quality because we've never heard the brand name WORX before. My husband tested it and he likes it alot. If he's happy, then I'm happy. Very powerful blower. Has several blower settings and it works great on even the lower settings. Recommend this electric blower. Will come in very handy when the leaves fall off the trees soon. Also will use to blow the grass clippings off the sidewalk and our walk way when the grass is moved.

I was curious as to how efficient an electric blower would be as compared to a gas blower. This electric blower is much lighter than a gas blower. I also find it safer that I'm not storing gasoline in a blower when it's not in use. This blower has 2 speeds. I have yet to need to use the highest speed. I have been using it primarily for pine needles & random yard rubbish. It is very easy to maneuver. I do find it a bit cumbersome, however, using it with one hand. I am 60+ years old & am of slight build. After 10 - 15 minutes, my arm is tired and later sore. I would use two hands but I am not very happy with the clip that is supposed to keep the extension cord in place, plugged in. I found that even using the clip, if I stretched the extension cord a little too far it would unplug. This is not enough of a deterrent for me to not continue using this product. Now that Fall is upon us, I will be making very good use of this blower. After I am done with the front yard I intend on blowing out my 2 car garage. Using this blower is definitely easier than raking an entire yard. On a side note, I have desert landscaping which makes this blower all the more efficient. I would most definitely recommend this product.
