I Find the anaconda log splitter is alot safer than an ax and it is light enough to controll its safe and fast i wish they came in pink but they are easy to store in the tool shed or lumber yard its got a child safty screw so the little ones cant cut down their treehouse when their playing in the yard.great deal for under $50
Using the Log Splitter has made the job of cutting wood so much easier. I don't know how we did it before we bought this log splitter.
had a problem with the first one it was jammed they saw they sent a replacement no questions asked great company to deal with and it actually split the wood Don't take care of it away with big pieces
I've found this to be a great aid in splitting wood. It's not as fast as the wedge and maul, but it is extremely useful. Especially if you get a good hit right off from the start you can then use the anaconda to split in 1-2 wacks, instead trying to hit the same spot repetitively. It works best with non frozen wood if using it by itself. It does relieve some of the back pain of this type of labor.
This is a really great product. It does take some work unless the logs are really small but IT WORKS!!!!! I am a fairly small female and was able to use this pretty efficiently! I'm very happy with this purchase and would recommend!
Found the Andacoda slide-hammer splitter to be a very usefull tool that saves time and your back, it is also quick and easy to use. I give this product a big thumbs up!
I needed help. My hands were getting killed by the hammer and maul approach. I couldn't hire anyone and no one wanted to help. (Who would right? I had two cord to split.) I read the reviews, which were mixed. It works. It is by far, better if you have a crack in the log to start. I use vibration resistant gloves, plus I have rags bunched in my hands to cushion the blows. I do that with the sledge as well. If you're young a or rugged, you won't need the hand protection. I'm a delicate flower. And I'm already through almost a full cord of black locust - very hard wood,
I purchased this a month ago and am disappointed with it. The slide weight could be a little heavier and the stroke longer. Thought this would be great for my kids to help with splitting (they're to small to use my maul). I tried it and found that it required several impacts to work through a relatively easy log (one that my maul would require 1-2 swings). I have a friend that has different slide splitter that works better. The other downside to this and similiar slide splitters is that it's metal to metal impact and is loud (should use hearing protection). In summary more effort to split wood and loud. Not the greatest product.
They make it seem easier in the video...my husband said it is more difficult then using an ax, it takes more times to pump this thing than it takes to swing an ax. We heat the house with wood, so we would need to use it quite often. I wanted it becuase I can't swing an ax and thought this would be easier...WRONG. This product is very tiring on your back, neck, and shoulders. What a waste of money!!!
