I got this for my husband who recently developed arthritis in his wrists and elbows. I wanted him to have a way to split logs without having to use an edge or an axe. He has had this for almost a year now, and it works very well. It has no problem with larger logs and never seems to struggle with what he gives it to split. Last winter when he was struggling with splitting wood, we had a tough winter and never had enough firewood. This year, he had a giant stack of firewood for us to use. He uses this in the garage and just like the product information says, there are no fumes produced or issues using it indoors. This was a much better price than some of the other ones that we were looking at, and it is simple enough to operate that even I am able to use it with ease. Definitely pleased with our purchase!
Shipped very quickly. I unpacked and assembled it as soon as it got here and put it to work on 10-12 inch diameter seasoned oak logs about 18 inches long. This splitter went through the logs quickly and easily with no hiccups. I then used it to split some of the wood further down to one inch square kindling. It handled splitting this small wood with ease also. This splitter is a real winner for me!
Ito is hard to believe the power of this machine, many of the log splitters now say they are seven ton but I only have a two horsepower motor, this is a true seven tone log splitter. After the last snow I cut 3 cords of hardwood with no issues and cut it with ease. I would recommend this log splitter to any homeowner!
I love how well that this log splitter works. I like to cut my own logs for my fire place and this log splitter is so easy to use. I turn it on and it cuts the wood so quickly and effortlessly. When I first got it, I wasn't sure how to use it so I called the company and asked for help. They helped me through the process and now it works like a charm for me!
Easy to assemble, but the hand guard has sharp edges which resulted in cuts on both hands. I took it off to prevent further injuries. The splitter works well, no issue on green wood so far. Plenty of power and easy to use.
This log splitter work's wonderful. It splits logs with very little effort from me. The crazy thing about it is the two handles I have to push down with my hands. That puts my face so close to the machine. It should be a u shape handle that can be operated with the foot. The other crazy thing is you have to shut it off after each split. But it does get the job done.
Plenty power for cutting green pine with knots the only negative is the wedge end could be about 4 inches longer if splitter catches on a knot the log will slip off the splitter but overall I am very pleased!
I bought this for my husband. We live in the south and with storms and wind there always seems to be a tree down. The splitter set up easy and has performed good. My husband likes it very much. Which is a surprise, since it's not gas powered. He always thought electric wouldn't work that well. I see this splitter helping him a lot.
Worked great in warm weather. Tried using today (temp approx. 30 degrees) but motor could not pump fluid and popped circuit breaker.
After failures with two units, I returned the splitter and got a refund from the manufacturer. The manufacturer was kind and patient and told me the unit would not split green logs, which I was splitting pecan cut about two months. I believe it would work nicely with dried, seasoned wood, and thus may be right for your use.
