I absolutely love this weedeater. It was so easy to put together. Charged overnight used the next day. This is great for a woman to use as it is light and doesn't throw grass all over like our old gas weedeater. I made the mistake of working on the back yard before the front and ran out of power just before finishing but just recharged overnight and went out and finished the next night.
It takes a while for the battery to get fully charged, but when you need it, its ready to go... I use it every other week , and the battery is still charged.....
Trimmer was easily assembled. After an overnight charge, the first time I pulled the power trigger, I was take by surprise at the power. It very effectively trimmed along the fence line with me at a slow trot to keep it busy. Also used along sidewalk as edger. There was a lot of work here as it had not been edged for a long time. This was slow going, but will be much easier and quicker the next time. It worked well, but I think I took 3 charges to get through it. Like I said, it hadn't been done in a while. I have lots of sidewalk, about 1/3 of a cul-de-sac. There was a lot of work to be done. As an edger, it is surprisingly effective. All in all, I'm very pleased with the power and effectiveness of the trimmer. My only reservation is that the battery seems somewhat limited in capacity. With a little more battery capacity, I would have given it 5 stars. My hope is that by keeping up with the trimming weekly, it will all go so fast that there is enough battery. I haven't timed it, but at the point I would estimate that I only get 20 minutes of operation out of a charge.
I never review products!! I must say this is a great product. My front yard had grown heavily beyond it s boundaries. Now after 3 weeks of owning it my neighbors come to me for gardening advice. Assembly was simple. The trimmer is VERY powerful. The one & only down side is the battery life. I had to use the power boost most mode at 1st to get the really thick grass. When I did this I depleted the charge in less than 15 minutes. It took more than 9hrs to charge. Now I use it in regular mode & it holds a chrge for over 30 mins. Great Product.
This really is a great trimmer, don't get me wrong, but the other reviews on it were right. I charged it for the whole night, much longer than the needed nine hours. When I first started using it, it ran excellent! It got everything I threw at it, it even has the turbo option. But then after having it out for only twenty minutes, it started dying. It did get most of the job done though so that's why I give it four stars. Our yard is almost an acre.
This weedeater is great for those that don't want to buy gas and deal with that yucky mixture and don't want to try to start a gas powered weedeater with a rope pulling your arm out of socket. It's an easy start, just a flick of the button. I have found it does hard jobs as well. It's a little bit heavier than a gas powered and I advise you to buy a spare battery if you have a very large area to trim. Overall, I love it.
The charge of the battery does not last very long. It last less than the 18V trimmer we have.
Used this trimmer only once so far. Had the battery in the charger for a few days before trying out the trimmer. I have a small front yard and it didn't even get that done before running down. The yard is about 15'x15' with a 15-20' long parkway and a 3'x15' strip of lawn next to the driveway. Had it set in 'normal' mode for max run time. But it didn't last very long. Great power, even in the normal setting. At least for as long as it lasted, which wasn't much.
Most of the negative comments in these reviews have to do with the short operating time. I'll agree with that, but all of the trimmers I researched had 30 - 45 minutes operating time, so this one is no different. It is reasonably lightweight so my wife can use it, and that's why we bought this one. What I object to is the high cost of the replacement battery ($50 plus tax) and the fact that it is hard to find the spools of nylon string. I wish we had bought the Ryobi instead, though, at a lower price.
Very poweful, for as long as it lasted. It did not last long enough for even 20 minutes. I returned it to my local Walmart. I baught electic black and decker from Walmart. Walmart has best price...
