Needs some modifcation in putting this thing together. They give plastic ties in place of the metal connectors as shown in the instructions. Throw away the plastic ties, and use some heavy gauge wire to connect the swing- gate to the frame. The plastic ties will break the first time you use them. Also I drilled the pole holes thru to the other side and used bolts and nuts to connect the poles to each other. It makes it stronger. It's a great contraption once you re-enginner it. It is light, and I cleared about 12-18 inches of the lower roof. Note- the more you take off the roof, the more you then have to shovel, so go with what your situation is. I have GutterGuards and had a big problem with ice dams. No more since removing that lower snow. The sun heats up that exposed roof and snow melts from above the cleared area and runs great. No more ice dams, icicles, ice-filled gutters.,
Ease of use.
I read previous reviews before purchasing, so I had an idea what upgrades might be needed. However, instead of Zip-Ties, to hold the blade on..it now comes with strong heavy duty Hog-Ties. Which are so strong that I can't bend them at all. So I need a stronger person, to help on that part. Until then...I have Zip-Ties, so I'm using them, LOL. There are 4 Lock-Nuts included...and the one I used to hold the frame onto the pole, must've been a faulty one, because the first time I used it..the nut fell off. Luckly I was on my deck, and it landed where I could see it. Next time, it came off I wasn't so lucky...so when I head to town, a trip to the hardware store will be needed...but it's nothing major. Otherwise...it will work exactly as it's suppose to do. So overall...it's not a bad deal, just needs some personal find tuning.
Wheels could be larger. Will not work with the heavy snow in the upper midwest.
