I received this hedge trimmer as a gift and it works amazingly! My hedges have been overgrowing since I purchased my home 5 years ago, and this removed 2 feet of overgrowth with no problem. I have removed branches up to 1/2” with ease, and branches up to 3/4” with a swing at them. The cord plugs directly into the back of the unit, so it needs a single receptacle extension cord to work. It is also loud- I recommend ear protection while using it, but that won’t deter me from using this absolute powerhouse until I can’t any longer!
The Black & Decker 22" Hedge Trimmer will be just what you need also if you have small trees growing up in your fence row as I do. I am glad I made Black and Decker and Walmart my first and final choice,, all I can say is "try it" you'll like it,
I bought this to trim a 7 year old hedge, had fairly thick branches, and the trimmer never got locked up on a branch and cut through everything needed. Seemed powerful and worked well.
machine has good cutting power...a little heavy, but cuts bigger areas.....I would recommend it.
Easy guard and handle asdembly...4 screws and done. lightweight makes it easy to hsndle. Blades cut not chop. Nice even lines. Perfect for me to use by myself. Only problem was instructions say assembly screws in box. Screws were already in screw locations on the trimmers. Tight and difficult to remove to attach guard and handle. .
I had an old 24" B&D hedge trimmer that was great. This one is 2" smaller and a bit easier to handle. Trimmed all my shrubs easily and cuts the bigger limbs really good. Nothing to complain about!
made short work out of a huge hedge in my yard. It cut through branches as big as my thumb. I'm glad I went with this hedger.
My shrubs were out of control so I purchased this Black & Decker 22" hedge trimmer. It went through thicker branches than my old model. It gets kind of heavy to hold after awhile but I opted for the bigger, heavy-duty model so it would last longer. My hedges look so nice now. I ruined my last trimmer by keeping it in an outdoor garden shed and the blades got all rusty. I will buy the recommended oil this time and oil the blades and keep in my garage instead. Wal-mart site-to-store is a nice option to save money on shipping. Many items aren't on the shelf at the stores so I like shopping on-line.
The first thing I tried was to cut a branch that was 3/4 inch and it cut thru nicely. Impressive!! I recut our cedar hedge and it was a joy to use compared to a pair of shears. The same product in Canada at Canadian Tire sells for $110 regular price so the value is excellent.
This is a nice trimmer. Light-weight, good cutting surface, easy to use. My only complaint is the safety trigger... while very effective in its purpose, your hand gets fatigued if you have a larger trimming surface, requiring frequent hand-flexing breaks. But overall, a very good trimmer.
