I have put my trimmer through some super tough brush, and it always kicks butt. Now, I'm not talking just a little edging, I'm talking about vines, overgrown grass and weeds, and sometimes even stalks. This trimmer tackles it all. Even with all this punishment, these units typically last about 3 years when used year-round in Florida on my farm. The cordage is a little expensive, but it's smooth and efficient. Gets the job done—and fast!
Thank you for your I have this weed wacker and I love that it is battery powered so easy to use. I love it
Excellent product. On my second one. First one worked flawlessly for almost one year. Medium tall weeds encountered.
The description had the battery coming with the unit. NOT.... I caught it before I ordered it and had to order a charger and battery from another company. As far as the trimmer goes works well for residential and I don't need to worry about gas engines anymore...
I am on my 2nd one. The first one failed after no more than 4 to 6 hours of use. Maybe I should only give it 1 star, but I really liked the way it worked until it failed. Less than an hour on the new one, so... I had to ship it to B&D, but they turned right around and shipped me a new one.
I have owned two of these trimmers now, and both of them failed very early on. The first failed after less than 3 months of ~bi-weekly usage and the second failed after less than an hour of total run time. Unfortunately, I didn't get around to reporting the first one until after the warranty period expired (I also own a gas trimmer from another brand). I took the trimmer apart to try to diagnose the issue and was disappointed to see a very inadequate design. The gear driving the string head is plastic, and had been shredded by the metal gear on the motor. The thin plastic seating for the bearings had also melted/cracked. I can't imagine how this product passed a life test. Perhaps it is only intended for very light use with thin grass.
They seemed to indicate it came with battery and charger. Price would have been good if they did. But nope just the weedwhacker! Not happy!!!!!!
Unit worked well for 2 months then locked up. I returned it for repair on August 12th and still don't have a replacement.
I have already replaced the plastic head housing once because it failed and almost ruined the drive gear. Now the string keeps feeding, because it let's out more than 7" at a time. I bought a replacement spool assembly and that didn't work. It strips off the line so fast that in my small 5000 sq ft yard, trimming the edges takes two spools worth of line. I get frustrated with the poor design of this unit. DON'T BUY ONE!!!!
Even though the second paragraph suggests that the battery is included, the third paragraph clearly states that it is not. I wish I'd have read more throughly.
