We had looked for benches that had deeper seating so the back of your legs didn't feel cut off. This one fit the bill. It's a bit of a jigsaw puzzle to put together; don't tighten everything down until you fit the pieces together. The reviewer who said he had to saw off the ends of the seat probably put the seat on backwards. We did that at first, then switched it around. The wooden slats of the seat fit even with the front brace, which makes for more comfortable seating. The DESIGN is what makes this piece, as it is a very attractive look. We intend to apply teak oil to keep the finish a honey color, and we may add a bench cushion for more comfortable seating. But the wooden slats are more comfortable than you might expect. For the price, this bench is a great buy.
Nice design, and fairly easy to assemble--Ikea style "hex wrench" connectors. We used Teak oil, as recommended, right away--water beads up nicely. I think that this will keep it looking good. I have no experience with eucalyptus wood before this, but it looks handsome--at least for now. It goes nicely with my new eucalyptus deck table, seating 3.
Excellent value! Great quality! It arrived about 8 days after ordering. Although the directions were not very detailed, we figured out how everything fit together after a few tries. Would have been easier with written instructions, instead of pictures only, but still fairly quick and easy to assemble. This comes perfectly sanded and finished. Sturdy slats on seat, beautiful carved back detail, comortable and longer than most! We put it on our front porch to slow weathering down, small amount of stain/finish dripped off when rained on, but not a problem. Will probably need restaining or sealing every year to keep finish, like any similar wood bench would need. Overall this really is an excellent bench, fabulous value, great addition to garden or porch!

This is a great bench! It was very inexpensive and it is larger than most other benches I was looking at. It was fairly easy to put together and it looks great in my backyard!
If you look at the reviews, most all of them are posted in 2008. I purchased this bench April 2013. The reason I chose this bench is because it matches the two over sized chairs I purchased from walmart last summer (2012). I believe it is also the exact same maker as the chairs/bench, wood, everything is exactly the same. This bench is extremely light weight. In fact, it feels like it weighs less than the chairs. It was very easy to put together and there is NO step by step directions, only a diagram. Still, it truly was easy to put together. Put together the sides, bottom, seat, area first. It probably took me about 20 minutes to put it together after unpacking and sorting. Not many pieces to it. The back is one piece. The sides are two pieces. The seat is one piece. There is a couple of pieces in the middle like slats that must be attached before the seat. That's about all there is to it. However, it is over priced in my opinion and when comparing with other benches. Some of the wood is splintered and I will have to take time out to sand those areas. There was also thin brown packing paper, almost like thin cardboard, that was stuck to it in places and I have to sand those areas too. There is similar benches, similar length, same type of wood, for about $75 less, sold right here on the Walmart site so be sure and look thru all of them first. I can say, I probably would have chose another similar one that is $125 instead of this one Except for the fact this one matched the two chairs I ordered last summer. It does look nice and is just fine except I feel it is over priced.
The bench seat was damaged during shipping. I reattached a cross member [glue and screws] on the seat and assembled tthe bench. I believe more packing material a careful handling would have prevented damage during shipping.
My husband assembled this bench and had to saw off the ends of the cross braces on the seat in order to install it on the bench. Other than that the bench is very nice. This was a gift and the recipient thought it was beautiful.
