We love it, it is as pictured. Size is SHIPPING CARTON size, not product. Product is 49"x 17x17 approximately. I just ordered a second one, we liked the first one so much.
We bought two of these benches for our patio to store pool supplies and toys and we are very pleased with them so far. They are more beautiful than we expected considering the price and are very well made. They are heavy, the wood is sanded nicely, and you can definitely use them for extra seating. The bottom section of the bench is slatted, so rain/water can run right through. They took about 10 minutes each to put together. The pieces have mortise and tenon joints so you just slot them together and then put in the bolts. The longest part of the assembly was figuring out exactly how to put the bolts into the "nuts", as the directions only have photos, not words, and this wasn't depicted. We did follow the instructions and placed them on the lawn in the rain for 2 days, which is supposed to leach the extra red coloring out. The color did fade slightly, but is still very nice.
I purchased this to cover a hose and hose bib in our yard. It works perfectly. We cut a few slats out of the bottom inside so it fits over the hose bib and we just roll the hose up in the bench and close the lid! Looks like a regular bench! I love the wood and color. Very nicely made. The top even has a slight dip to fit your behind! Great product, and great price when I compared other benches to hide the hose.
This bench is just beautiful! The wood color is really nice. It was really easy to put together. I put most of it together myself. I needed help from my husband to assemble the lid because you need someone to hold it up while you screw in the hinges. Also, the chain that connects the lid is too long, so we had to put the screw through the links to make the chain shorter. But that worked fine and now the lid is supported by the chains. I highly recommend this. It has great storage, and works as both a bench and coffee table in my sunroom.
I got two of these to line up under a row of windows in our "toy room." They help hide the kids clutter and work fine to sit on. I was surprised that my toddler girls have no problems opening these or having them fall closed. The assembly was as easy as the reviews said. I only had one slot/groove that was a little tough to fit together & was able to wiggle it together with fairly little effort. I would definitely recommend.
I spent some time looking for a good storage bench for our pool toys. I didn't want a plastic one because I wanted it to look a little bit nicer. This was perfect and less than half the price of other storage benches I found! It's also pretty big, but I would still consider buying another one. For it's purpose, it worked out perfectly. Fashionable and functionable.
I hired a carpenter to assemble this and he was very impressed with the quality and price. The only suggestion he made was, if I were to store heavy things that didn't rest on the edges of the bottom shelf but in the middle, to reinforce the bottom shelf by positioning a 2x4 on edge under it, just on the floor, needn't be attached to bench.
Pretty, seemingly well constructed bench. Has some storage capabilty, lovely to sit on although the search for the item does not have the available cushion as a recommended extra, didn't even realize a cushion was available. Stumbled on while searching something else and purchased after receiving bench. Not troublesome to assemble. bottom is open weave as well so water will go right through. Wonder how long it will hold up outside, 365 days a year in Sc weather. We'll see. Worth the price though, nobody has anything as nice as close in price. I would purchase again, definitely.
This product is better described as a storage BOX, not a bench. It is not built well enough to support a persons body weight.
The bench is very attractive, however, I was disappointed that an outdoor storage bench, that will be exposed to the rain, has slats with openings for the rain to come in. We intend on storing our chair cushions in this box, so it doesn't make sense that the contents are exposed to the weather.
