Overall, it seems to be a pretty durable house for Martins. Ours is on a telescoping pole. PROS: It easily converts from a 12 room house to a 6 room house. It comes with plugs. There is a ventilated attic. This was the first PM house we purchased and set up without knowing much about PMs. We had birds fly over it but no takers. We purchased another more durable PM house for this year, but will put this one out, too to offer variety. CONS: Store this house in off season. The metal becomes brittle. We had to rivet the doors to the house because they wouldn't stay in place. Now we have to lift the entire roof off to do nest checks. The plastic rails must be fastened to the house or they come off, too. We lost a few and had to make our own. Shame, it's a nice durable house. If you can afford to, go with a better quality house. Otherwise, this will do the job as long as you're aware of the defects.
