I purchased this item to replace one that was falling apart. This feeder seems to be well made. It was easy to install and changing the feeder didn't seem to bother the squirrels. I hope it lasts as long as the previous one! We had it for 8 years.
I bought this in addition to the Pennington classic feeder squirrel snacker feeding station because I wanted to be generous to my other diners who weren't able to access the feeding station since they don't really know how to share. I place a cob of corn on this each morning and evening and they come and eat to their heart is content. I know I am making them happy and they are very entertaining for me to watch.
It has been so fun for my parents to sit on there porch and watch the squirrels eating corn. They tell everyone they talk to, that they need to come see them.
It's cute, but about half the size you'd expect. Too small for our fat squirrels to actually sit on.
This is no where close to the quality of my old squirrel feeder that gave out from years in the weather. My old one was a Walmart product. I rate it 25 cents worth of wood, the remainder of the cost went to the ridiculous engraving on the back board, which the squirrels couldn't give a poop about !
