I bought this product 1998. It last for 5 years plus. I lived on an island in the Bahamas this unit endured 5+ hurricanes. The last Hurricane I clocked wind speeds of over 90 miles per hour. My unit has see a lot of weather and it recorded it all on my computer. Weather software for this unit is amazing. After 7 years the solar units finally failed. I know I could get replacements but I intend to buy another one and have two main consoles one for the computer and one to move around the house. The unit senors are durable and will last for many years. I would recommend this unit to anyone looking for a solid weather station, who has an interest in the weather and would like to track it too on a day to day month to month year to year basis. I have looked at all the wx stations that are on the market. Davis makes a nice unit. The Davis unit has a UV sensor and a soil sensor, great if you are in to farming or have sensitive skin. The Davis unit can also transmit a lot further up to about 1/2 mile. The mwr968 transmits comfortably up to 400 feet. I have never had a problem receiving info from the unit sensors. The mwr968 has many of the same features as the more expensive units but, for a fraction of the price and the software is soooo much better. This is a great product at a great price and is so easy to set up and use. I would recommend this product to anyone who has an interest in the weather.
It's important to say that when you're looking for a wireless weather station you expect a wireless product wich is not this case. This Item is full of cables.
