This compressor delivers exactly what it says in the manual except the noise values, very good quality with good looking, powerful for small home jobs. Easy to operate. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
This compressor is replacing a 1970's twin cylinder Craftsman compressor. It is quieter, lighter and more portable, but cost four times the amount of the old one. It works well on the small tire inflation jobs so far, but haven't tested it on nail guns, paint spraying or more demanding jobs yet. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I'm a remodeling contractor and have been using cheap pancake compressors for years but am tired of the loud high pitched noise they make. The MAC700 is substantially quieter and lower pitched. It seems to have a much quicker recovery time also. The downside is its weight. It is surprisingly hard to handle. The 50 lb weight plus the transverse handle make it awkward to carry. I'm no weakling but I groan every time I have to move it. I never gave that a second thought with its light weight competitors. Other reviewers have complained that it can easily tip over in the back of the truck. I can see how that is likely being so top-heavy. Then again, I've seen my pancakes do the same. Overall, I'm glad I bought it. It has a heavy duty, old-school build, is quiet, fills quickly, and looks surprisingly cute!
