[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got my classic tape measure cause my old one got all bent and wouldn't retract anymore and I needed it for measuring for some home improvement I was doing. I love this product.
BEST TAPE I EVER HAD, 15 YEARS OF USE , IM A WELDER
Doing major basement remodel. Stands up to tough work conditions Recommend for all major projects [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I really like this tape. I do roofing and it works great for me. I can usually take one measurement of a roof area instead of two or more measurements like I had to when I had the 25' tape I recently gave away. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
This is better than the 25' model for when one plans a patio or a garden along a 25' -30' space - you can do more measuring without having to stop and re-check - like you would with a shorter tape. Fifty foot tapes are ok, but that gets a bit heavy in one's hands as to marking distance and length. I'd recommend this for anyone planning a patio or garden -- should they own a place with a side-yard.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Whenever I see this Stanley 35FT PowerLock tape measure, I think about my late husband. He was a Brick Mason by trade and this Stanley tape measure was one of his favorite things. He especially liked the powerlock feature. He would give this, and other Stanley products 5 stars.
spring is weak!! Does not retract properly.
I am on my 6th Stanley Powerlock tape measure I had 30'er's in the past and since they came out with the 35' I have been using that. I have to say they do not stand up to construction use. The 1st 30' fell down a step and exploded, so I bought a 35', that one the tape ripped in half about 7-10" in, so I bought another 35' in under 6 months time of use the clip at the end of the tape has broke that holds the spring to the tape measure. It breaks off about 1" from the tape. This has now happened with the next 2 tape measures I have bought. I am now looking for another brand of tape measure! Oh and one the clip sheared right off when the tape retracted, and it wasn't out that far that is slammed hard either.
Received a Stanley 35' Powerlock tape measure as a Christmas gift. After less than 6 months of normal use the tape broke around the 2" mark. Have owned other Stanley tape measures that have lasted for years without issue. Cannot recommend this product.
Just opened up this brand new tape measure and it won't retract. Tried to help the tape back into the reel and the tape bent and kinked after one time bending backwards. I have owned tapes for years that have rusted through and broken before ever kinking. I have owned a lot of Stanley tapes but the materials on this one are absolutely garbage! Maybe instead of using “Global Materials”, Stanley should try using USA materials in addition to the labor. Just a thought. DO NOT BUY.
