Detailed product description

0097360507942. New condition. DVD. Run time: 60 mins. Season three of Star Trek: Voyager begins with the titular space vessel still in the hands of the enemy Kazon, and Captain Janeway (Kate Mulgrew) and most of her crew still stranded on Hanon IV, a desolate planet that closely resembles a prehistoric Earth. Eventually extricating themselves from this situation, the crew survives to embark on innumerable other adventures in their efforts to escape the distant Gamma Quadrant and return to their Starfleet Command home base. Highlight episodes this season include the two-part "Future's End," in which the crew must alter events of the 20th century to avert catastrophe in their own time; "The Q and the Gray," in which familiar Star Trek: The Next Generation nemesis Q (John DeLancie) demands that Janeway bear him a child; "Coda," wherein Janeway comes face to face with her deceased father; "The Darkling," which finds the holographic Doctor (Robert Picardo) generating a hostile version of himself; and "Before & After," in which Ocampan crew member Kes (Jennifer Lien) is given a most disturbing glimpse into the future. The traditional cliffhanger ending of Star Trek: Voyager's third season finds Janeway forced to forge an alliance with our old "friends," the Borg, in order to vanquish an even more powerful enemy. Hal Erickson, Rovi

Watched this series when I was much younger and loved it from beginning to end. Truly a classic and well worth the money to be able to see it again. Not only once, but as many times as you want.

A race worse than the borg? Unimmaginable. Something the borg fear. Some of the eposides were funny, and epic cliff hangers. A must if a trek fan.

One The Greatest TV Shows EVER!

I fell in love with Star Trek Voyager on that cold January day the pilot episode aired. I followed the series for all seven years and promised myself, that one day I would have the entire series in my home library. Thanks to Wal-Mart and their convenient site-to-store option, I will be able to make this dream a reality. As with most TV series, it takes about two seasons for them to get their legs. Voyager followed that formula. Although, the show was exceptional even in the first two seasons. There are a few episodes in the beginning years that aren't the best, but in general the writing, acting and special effects were top notch. The third season is where things really became more threatening and delved into the various characters psyches. The Doctor gained the ability to roam the ship (and even leave it) with his newly acquired mobile emitter. And we get introduced to the Borg all over again. But this time they are threatened with extermination by an even more powerful force. And poor Voyager is left all alone to deal with not only a 65 year trip back home, but must go through the lion's den to get there. As for the DVD set itself, I must say the packaging is nicely done. You don't get a flimsy cardboard box. These sets, are all encased in plastic. Each season is colored differently, so you don't have go through them all to find the one you want. The covers also have different artwork depicting Voyager and other vessels seen in the show. There is also a detailed list of the episodes, their air dates, and which disc they are on located on the back of each case. One thing I should note, the episodes are also numbered. However, their numbers are not always in order of their air dates or the chronology of the show. I find this odd, but apparently this was due to the fact that the shows were not all shot in order. Keep this in mind while watching. The numbers appear on the DVD menus. You might be tempted to click on them by number. Don't do this if you want to watch the show in the right order. The episodes are laid out in order going from left to right, top to bottom. The DVD's are packed very tightly in their individual sleeves. I found it a little difficult to remove some of them. You have to be careful so you don't break the case or damage the DVD. They do this so the discs don't fall out and slide around. I for one am grateful for it. However, younger kids or older adults may need a little help. The menus are fairly easy to navigate. They all have different animations of Voyager or other vessels and the interface looks like the computers in the show. There is a bit of lag when switching around the menus. This is probably due to the animations. One of the highlights of this set are the special features. They include interviews with two of the regular cast members. Each season has a different pair. They also include behind the scenes archival footage of certain episodes. There are even interviews with some cast members done in 2005. And if that were not enough, there are even Easter Eggs hidden in some of the menus of these boxed sets. Easter Eggs are hidden racks on the disc. They are generally found by clicking highlighted areas in the menu while moving around with the arrow keys. These hidden tracks can include anything from interviews to behind the scenes snippets. I would highly recommend this for anyone who is a Star Trek fan. I will certainly be buying the rest. Just remember, if you don't see it in your local Wal-Mart, check on walmart.com and use the site-to-store option. It's quick, and easy. Shipping is free (unless you're in a real hurry), and you can pick it up right in the store when you're ready. You also have the option to have it mailed to you. Happy shopping, and "Live long and prosper!"
