Clean, efficient and quiet. Not cheap, but worth it. Installation instructions could use some revisions, but I installed it in 1.5 hours including the removal of my old toilet.
We've been remodeling out kitchen and bathrooms over the past year - 4 bathrooms, that is. The first two got American Standard Champion toilets, which we really like a lot. But then those were out of stock when we got to the 3rd remodel, so we got the H2Option. Now this one I love. The choice button thingie is cool, helps you save water and only use what you need to use. Despite the low water usage, flushing is decisive and only rarely is there any stool left on the side of the bowl (it does happen, sometimes, though, unlike the Champion model, where it never happens). The H2Option is compact and looks modern and sleek, and really fits nicely into an upgrade/updating of a bathroom. We like it a lot and are going to install another H2Option in our final, 4th bathroom remodel.
Great toilet, easy to clean, and 8 of 10 usages the 1.0G flush is sufficient to clear the bowl. I won't get into details (we all know what we're talking about) but you only need the 1.6G flush very rarely - at least that was true for us. That being the case the water efficiency was even greater than expected.
Remodeled our guest bath, and chose this toilet, installed it about 1 year ago, and still running strong! Overall an excellent choice for upgrade/remodel project!! Thank you, American Standard!!
It took me less than an hour to remove the old toilet and install the new one, everything was included and I had no missing parts, the instructions were clear, I am not sure if someone that has never done it can finish in an hour but I would definitely recommend this product. I would also like to add that the style is modern and adds to the bathroom.
I bought one of these and was so impressed that I bought a second one. American Standard has done their homework on flushing technology. You save water and there's no compromise in the performance. When flushing, hold the button in momentarily until the flushing sequence starts and it will perform flawlessly every time.
Generally pleased withe toilet itself. I purchased it at [...] - online. While I appreciated it coming directly to my home, [...] another promotion to discount the toilet, I think the toilet should include a seat and a wax ring. For the MSRP, and product placement, the customer will rationalize the price better if the perception is more favorable. My perception of the price, "tanked", after I saw that the pieces were not included and I had to make a trip back to the store. In fact, the instructions make mention of those 2 items in the steps...as though they are included.
The left side float gets held up and does not allow the water to shut off. I've tried several different adjustments on the height and it still gets held up before reaching the top. The center shaft looks to be a little off center but unfortunately it's a fixed position - no adjusting that.
We have had our toilet for toilet for less than 6 months... I should have never let my husband install it because it has been nothing but issues. First, it sits a few inches from the wall and pokes out. We had pre-measured but it is still awkward. We paid over $200 and the seat is plastic, uncomortable and cheap. Since he had already put it in, we decided we could live with it... until now. The inside of the bowl is greyish black in areas. This is where the water flows, not where water stays in the bowl. It is like the bowl is discolored in patches (not because it is dirty) and the stains are in the actual vessels of the material. I called the company and they said the previous 5 cleaners that didn't work may be expected, but I should use CLR. Then, if that doesn't work, then I need to drain the toilet and soak it in vinegar and scrub it. The toilet that was there for 25 years before this one looked better than this one that we just got 6 months ago!! I shouldn't have to drain it and soak it in vinegar!! And, I agree that poop sticks every time my kids go in our bathroom- will never buy one again.
Bought two for my bathrooms and greatly reget it! The video show golf balls and chicken nuggets being flushed without problems but it should show sticky pastry slime being flushed because that is a whole different story! The problem for me is this : when #2 hits the commode it gets stck to the bowl ABOVE the water line. Then when you flush most of #2 goes down but there is still a streak of stool above the water line that the flush is not powerful enough to clean off! After 6 flushes the stool is still there and EVERY Time someone has #2 in my house it requires me to get a toilet brush and clean the bowl! EVERY TIME! I HATE this commode!! Next time American standard tests their toilets the need to use real human waste and not golf balls and chicken nuggets! Do not buy this commode unless your an OCD clean freak that's wants to scrub the commode 6 times a day!
