I have owned and used a Soleus fan for several years and bought it again as a gift for a friend. My Soleus fan has worked properly and efficiently. Although I have not used this recent purchase I trust it will provide comfort for my friend in the future.
I was half-expecting to get junk for the amount of money spent, but it turned out to be a very nice fan! Assembly was easy & fairly quick. The fan is quiet yet pushes a fair amount of air. Swing is smooth, no crackling sounds, so far. And finally, it looks very nice, I was glad to find a fan that was not white all over. I like having a remote, but in case it gets lost, all the controls are available on the stem. I'd like to add that I've never heard of Soleus brand before and my last fan was a well-known brand and I was not happy with it from the start so it doesn't always guarantee quality.

Very lightweight but seems sturdy. Very quiet even if in full blast. Easy to assemble. Seems flimsy at first but after setting it up, everything looks great!
The screw for the height adjustment bar is not working, couldn't screw in. But i m tired to return it. The one i ordered last year(a different one) i did return it because of missing part. I don't want to go through this again and bring it back to walmart. That's a 45 mins drive from where i live. The fan by itself is actually pretty good.
Of course our fan broke in the middle of summer. And of course when we went to the store to replace it, the seasonal section was full of school supplies and Halloween candy. So we ordered this fan online. Nice to be able to get ship to store and avoid shipping charges. It was delivered in a week which was great. But when we got it home it didn't have much power. You can't feel the breeze more than six feet away from the fan. And the remote has to be pointed right at the source or it doesn't work. This is very hard to do when you are in bed or sitting a ways from it. I like that you can control the oscillation (swing) feature from the remote. But like I said if you don't have it spot on to the control in the fan it is a pain to make it work. The fan is very heavy for it's size. Which can be good or bad. Good in that it won't just tip over at the slightest touch but bad in that it might take you two hands to move it around. It had a three prong on the cord so had to get an adapter. The base is small so it is easy to walk around it. This fan has good and bad points. If you have a small area to cool it might work for you. But to use in a living room or larger room it probably won't do the job for you. We are taking it back and getting an 18" with more power. I wish it had worked out since it is a good looking fan and looks much more stylish than the regular white or black fans available.
It appears that this product was brought back to the store and repackaged to sell!!! Parts are not right it was bent!!!
