We Love our new Noritz Tankless Water Heater. Enless hot water
So far it has been working great! The water on the other side of the house warms up quick!
We had our electric tank water heater replaced with the NRC711-OD tankless gas heater about six weeks ago. The change resulted in noticeable savings on our electric bill and freed up about six square feet of space in our laundry room, allowing us to make better use of that area. Like any tankless design, the NRC711-OD heats water on demand, which means that it takes about 15 seconds longer to get hot water than when drawing on the always-hot water in a tank. We've found this to have no real impact, whether we're showering, washing dishes, or running a load of laundry. Our experience thus far has been great.
We chose this particular model for two reasons: First: our gas line is 1/2" in diameter, and most tankless heaters are 3/4" in size. the second reason is we wanted to free up more space in our garage so we elected to have the outdoor model. We have a 2-bath home and haven't had any issues at all when using both bathrooms at the same time. This was a self-install and was a breeze. The instructions were easy to understand, but if you are not handy, please hire a plumber to install it. Having said that, there are a number of You Tube videos on how to install a Noritz product for reference.
Great water heater! Endless hot water! I only wish I had it in my home when I had my 3 sons living with me!
This unit works perfect for our needs. The endless hot water is a must for soak tub baths and relaxing hot showers. Very space efficient over an electric tank water heater. The electric bill dropped more that the gas bill went up so a great long term cost savings to boot. A really great purchase for us!
The electronic control board of our prior unit failed and caused us to look for a replacement. The local water heater specialty strongly suggested the Noritz. As we were without hot water and wanted an installation quickly we agreed. Replacement was quick. As this is an outdoor unit we had an issue of condensation building up behind the outer panel dripping on pipe insulation below. To mitigate this the installer added a piece of pcp tubing to extend from the hole in the unit bottom to near the concrete, bypassing the insulated piping. The remote temperature control is very difficult to master. The instructions do not match the steps required to change water temperature. A bit of trial and error was required.
Usually works well. However, during a significant freeze the drain pipe became frozen. This shut down the unit until temperatures warmed enough for it to thaw.
It is an eye sore. No one let me know of this neutralizer. My last Noritz did not have it. Not you fault. I think my plumber took advantage of me in the Texas freeze.
