Cools my whole downstairs and love that I can connect it to my phone
Easy to install, easy to set up wifi (if you know your home network wifi password which you will need). It is very convenient using the app to control the unit from your phone. The 12,000 btu unit cools my approximately 500 sq foot 1 bedroom apartment.
excellent a/c unit blows ice cold air and it cools down my house in about 30 minutes and it moves alot of air on the high setting. I would definately recommend this a/c to anyone looking for a window a/c. I will buy again.
The air comes out nice and cold and it is very quiet. The entire downstairs of my colonial home became comfortable within minutes. We will be enjoying this hot summer indoors. I'm going to get the same one but smaller next week for my bedroom. And the price was awesome:). Thanks Walmart ♥️
It does cool the room size it states it will cool, but not much else. I haven't messed with the wifi. And the remote does work, I just don't tend to use it. I do like that it has an economy mode, turn that on and the fan to auto, and it cools pretty well without just running the whole time. It will even run the fan lower at times. I haven't gotten a utility bill yet, but it seems like it doesnt have to run all the time to keep my big living room nice and cold and a small bathroom off to the side somewhat cool. It also has a sleep mode that I haven't messed with either. I bought a small 5000 btu unit a few years back just because I like it cold when I sleep and I have central air. Well my central air went out so instead of opting for a bigger 220v unit, I went with this guy. Honestly, I wish I would have purchased this one I stead of the little one years ago. I think had I done that, two of these units would have kept my house pretty cool and it's around 800 sq ft. I will say if you are trying to cool a whole home, it would probably be more efficient to go with a bigger unit even if you have to have it wired up. But if you just have a big room by a kitchen that always seems warm, ior if y just want to cool a medium to large room, this unit will do the trick, even in eco mode. If you drop the temp and just set it to cool.and the fan on high it will have you wanting a blanket.
The control panel came busted out the box. I would have returned but we needed an AC unit so it couldn't wait another day of returning and week of shipping. But it kicks out plenty of cold air and it keeps my large apartment cold.
GE is a good brand name; however, delivery of the air conditioner was not. It works so far but was damaged upon arrival. Walmart needs more quality control checks of the delivery services they offer. I was going to give 1 star but like I said GE is a good brand name and it is working for now.
Would not buy again. We bought 2GE A/C units, 12,000 and a 5000 BTU.. Bioth do not cool as well as the cheaper brands from Menards. The digital remote controls are extremely small to read and not user-friendly like dials. Hard for older people to use these remotes.
I had this A.C unit delivered to my house and i received it damaged.
Purchased this less than two years ago from Walmart, now getting a "EP" error code and the unit won't do anything, doesn't even blow normal air. Called GE for help, they couldn't even tell me what the error code meant, and said that due to it being longer than 12 months since my purchase date they couldn't help me. I have other air conditioners (from other companies) that are significantly older and still run perfectly. I will NEVER buy another GE product after this.
