I love this air conditioner. It's quiet and it has some excellent features, like that I can use my cell phone to control it. It also has so many different settings so you can set it up the way you want. The remote is so handy especially if you're in bad and don't want to get up. If you need a A/C unit get this one. It's great!!
Following review is on the TCL 8,000 BTU Wifi Enabled Energy Star Window Air Conditioner. Living in Texas summers are known to be brutal with temperatures hitting 3 digits for what feels neverending. Unavoidable, this kind of heat will cause a lot of wear and tear on my central unit, inflated bills and takes a big hit on my budget. One solution I have found to help combat this is by installing a window unit in my room(s). By doing this my overall thermostat can remain at a reasonable setting while allowing me to maintain a cooler temperature in that specific area(s). Now, I have another window unit, however, the TCL 8,000 BTU Wifi Enabled Energy Star Window Air Conditioner offers some upgraded features that I find very helpful and convenient. FEATURES: Visual - It could be my imagination or the color (black) but this unit appears to be smaller than my other unit, either way, it's much more pleasing to my eyes. Controls - I really like the convenience of the remote, digital display and electronic controls providing several options for speed, mode (cool, dry, fan & auto), eco and allowing me to easily adjust the setting from anywhere in my room without having to get up. Power - Packs a punch! Right off the bat, I noticed how strong the fan is. Just to give an idea my room is approximately 300 sq ft and with the temperature set at 75 degrees my room is nice and chilly within 5 minutes. For those that are conservative such as me, the unit does shut off once the desired temperature has been reached and eco mode which from what I understand cuts off the compressor unless the temperature rises. Then there is the wifi control, this feature alone is a tremendous benefit; I love being able to adjust and control the temperature and settings when I'm away from home at work or just in another room. Adjustment - I would like to suggest finding a way to make quieter. I can still sleep, however, when watching tv I have to increase the volume quite a bit. I am highly satisfied with my TCL window unit this is an excellent option and smart choice for someone that does not have central air or to maintain cooler temperatures in a specific area(s) and helps reduce cost during the harsh summer months.
I just got this TCL 8,000 BTU WINDOW AIR CONDITIONER WITH WI-FI to use in my bedroom in my mobile home. It was very easy to install in the window. Once I turned it on and used it for a few hours, I was very impressed with this. It is very powerful and blows cool air quite hard. It runs reasonably quietly. I live in Texas and it has been warm lately, and it cooled my hot bedroom pretty fast and I was able to sleep comfortably all night. I put it on the Eco Mode and set the temperature I wanted the room to be. When that temperature was met, the unit turned the fan off, then turned it back on again when it was needed. And I can adjust where the cool air blows in the room with the multi-directional louvers. The 8,000 BTU compressor cools up to three hundred fifty square feet. I love the remote that came with it. I am able to control all the functions from across the room. I can also use my smart phone from anywhere there is internet service to control the unit as well. There are three mode settings, cooling, dehumidifying and fan modes. An additional sleep mode automatically adjusts the temperature and fan speed so you can sleep easy. Pre-sets and a 24-hour timer keep your temperature to your liking, with auto restart functionality that preserves your settings even in the event of a power outage. I definitely recommend this air conditioner.
The TLC 8000 BTU Window Air Conditioner is great for larger rooms. It replaced a smaller 5000 BTU unit in our bedroom. While we have Central Heat and Air, living in Central Florida, I have found that keeping the Central Air Conditioning set a bit higher, and using window units to spot cool some rooms is more energy efficient. This coupled with the fact that during summer months we are often plagued by power outages after summer Storms or the dreaded hurricanes, our portable generator can power our necessitates, and in a Florida summer, having some kind of AC is a real necessity. The TLC 8000 BTU Window Air Conditioner runs very quiet and efficiently, when we first tried it in conjunction with the Central Air, set at 76 degrees, we turned the TLC 8000 all the way down to the coldest setting. I was amazed at how quickly the TLC 8000 BTU dropped the temperature in the master bedroom, so much o that it was necessary to turn the settings up to keep it from being too cold. On average we like to keep the room temperature down to 68 degrees when sleeping, now I don't know if the thermostat on the old window unit was faulty, or if the poor old thing just couldn't get the master bedroom down to 68 degrees, but the TLC 8000 set at 68 degrees, is almost too cold. The remote control that comes with the TLC 8000, is very handy, however, I found that trying to set uo the WIFI controls on my phone to be a real pain. The application is not written very well and the instructions are confusing. In the end I gave up and deleted the app. That is about the only negative I have found about the unit.
It took me a while to write a review because I haven't needed it till recently. I did not personally install this in my window because I am a female and it was just too much for me. Warning on the box once you cut the straps around it the box comes right off the bottom piece, just don't try to pick up from side of box after cutting those straps. Also fair warning if you order online watch for damage on back vents when it is delivered. A few were bent. Not enough to hurt it but it still happened. The persons that did install said it wasn't hard but helps to have two people. I have used window units for many years and in my opinion this is a quiet one. I like the digital controls. Not sure about the Econ mode yet. I just like to turn it on and set the temperature. If it gets too cold while I am in bed the remote is amazing to adjust the temp and the air speed. It also has a timer on it which works great but I rather just turn it on. It blows out nice cold air and cooled the room down fairly fast. The outside temp right now is just in the 80's.
Can you say AMAZING??? This is cool with just a remote but then add a WIFI option & it makes it even cooler because come on we always have our phones on us. This comes with all the mounting hardware to put in your window. Comes with a fan mode if you want to use it as just a fan. Has 3 different speeds. It cooled down the living room and kitchen pretty quick for a window AC and we didn't need to lower it past 79 degrees to cool it all off. The vents can be positioned in different directions for air flow. It also has a timer that you can set so it doesn't just constantly run. I feel like using it that way you will save some energy since it's not constantly running. It was 83 degrees today & probably hotter in the house since it doesn't have shading & I'm very pleased with how well it works. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a room air conditioner.
This window air conditioner was super easy to install and setup! Very user friendly, and powerful. You can easily set it up to be controlled by your phone and it also comes with a remote which is super handy. The dehumidifier is a great additional bonus! If there is a power outage it will restart with your saved settings when the power returns! It is Wi-Fi enabled so you can control it with your smart phone, and program it to your preferred settings and it will auto shut off when the room reaches the desired temperature. It is also a lot quieter than other units I have used previously, and it cools a medium sized room very quickly. I would highly recommend this air conditioner!
We spend most days in our living room when we're home, and don't like running the central a/c due to cost. This unit is perfect for our needs and budget. Needed two people to install. Easy to set your preferred temperature. Can go from cool to a warmer setting. Not too loud.
This Air Conditioner with WiFi is awesome. We own a higher end brand as well but this unit is just as nice, if not nicer. Especially for the price. It was very easy to install and came with the side skirting and hardware to secure it in the window. We bought a bracket to attach it on the outside but otherwise it's comes with everything else, including the foam to insulate the edges. It also includes a nice remote, batteries included. We installed this in our garage to help keep the temperature down during the summer. It has done a great job so far. I don't see how you can beat the price and features this unit has to offer!!
I recieved this product for my honest rating and review. My package arrived well packaged and in excellent condition. I recieved TCL 8,000 BTU Window air conditiiner for a medium size room in white. The dimensions are 19.76"L x 21.5" W x 14.6"H and it weighs about 61 pounds. This AC unit will cool a room up to 350 sq.ft, and works with a standard 110V outlet. It comes with a remote control that allows you the distance up to 7 feet. This airconditioner unit was installed in my daughter's hot stuffy den. This room is her exercise room and the hottest room of the house. It was very easy to install and looks attractive. After plugging in and turning on it cooled the entire room, and we exercised comfortably. It does make a little noise but its nothing to get annoyed over. I do reccomend you buy this unit if you need a great working airconditioner and rate it 4 out of 5.
